As part of the Growing Together DLC, you can now further expand your personality traits in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4 with the new Self Discovery system - giving you the chance to have more traits instead of just the ones given at the creation stage. This sy🅷stem is unique and can be used to evolve your Sims personalities as they grow in SimNation, whilst also allowing them to discover new skills.
Expanding traits can be really beneficial in helping your Sims find new jobs and interests, and helps build relationships. In this guide, we go throuꦛgh how the Self Discovery system works, and how you can use it to give your Sims even more personality.
What Is Self Discovery?
The Self Discovery system in the Growing Together DLC is reactive to what your Sims are doing, and will provide a new trait for you to accept, decline, or swap out for one of your current traits. For example, if your Sim is doing something that is abnormal for their current traits, a popup may appear prompting you to consider a new trait for their lifestyle.
These popups are generally triggered by what you are getting your Sims to do as a player, but sometimes they can happen naturally when exploring.
This update allows you to give your Sims extra traits, on top of the initial ones given at the character creation stage, which can be earned as they go through their lives. Adults and Young Adults will have the option to have up to six traits. The traits won't all come suddenly when you start playing the game, so try and get your Sims to do a variety of tasks in order to gain these additional elements of their personality.
By accepting these new suggested traits, your Sims will be developing much more extensive personalities, making for more exc🧔iting oppo♉rtunities through gameplay. These are only gameplay suggestions, so do not feel pressured to accept them when the popup appears.
However, you may decide that you want to ignore all trait suggestions altogether and play the game normally. To turn off the Self Discovery popups, find the Game Options section of the Pause Menu and click on Pack Settings. Scroll through until you find the Growing Together pack, and click on the box next to Self Discovery to turn it off in game.
Trait Additions
If one of your Sims does not have all of their trait slots filled, the game will periodically prompt you with new personality traits to add. When playing, your Sims may encounter new skills that they become fond of, or they may not be as good at things as they want to be, so here you can add your additional traits෴ to reflect these changes.
For example, if you gave your Sim the Active trait in the initial creation stage and they stumble a lot when working out, the game may suggest that you add the Clumsy trait to your existing set. This way your Sim can find humor in the clumsiness instead of embarrassment - giving them a massive boost in mood.
The additional trait options are mainly there for you to expand your Sim's personalities a🌱s each character is unique - so their stories and gameplay opt♏ions should be unique too.
Trait Swapping
On top of the additional trait popups, you will occasionally get prompts to swap a trait out for something that reflects your Sims' actions a bit more. This part of Self Discovery gives you the option to change one of your traits if your Sim is contradiℱcting something in their actions.
A good example of this is if your Sim initially has the Active trait, but has not been enjoying or doing any workouts, you may be prompted to swap this out for the Lazy trait - or vice versa.
Whilst some of these traits available to swap seem negative, there are many different ones that can come up for you to change your Sims personality for the better.
