The recently announced The Sims 4 Star Wars 🎉pack has gotten some mixed revi⛎ews, to say the least.

Just four days after the announcement trailer for the latest expansion pack in The Sims 4 "Journey to Batuu" released, the sits at over 92 thousand dislikes, more than double the number of likes. While some might be wondering how a pack for a generally popular media empire could go over so poorly, most people within the Sims community aren't surprised. In fact, most people skipped right past "surprise"🍒 and into "anger" when they saw the trailer. How did we get here?

Well, for starters, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4 has been out for about six years now. In this time, they've had multiple polls among fans for what they'd like to see in the next expansion pack.  The proble🌼m is that, historically, EA hasn't actually listened to the results of the polls. There areܫ still a significant number of features from The Sims 3 that people are hoping will return to The Sims 4 via an expansion pack: werewolves, zombies, horses. Obviously, none of those things are in this latest expansion, but look! Lightsabers!

Although it's easy to try and frame it as a "not everyone can be pleased at once" situation, the fact is that, to the Sims community, this feels less like appealing to a group of Sims fans and more like an effort to get people wholly uninterested in The Sims games to pick it up. As if EA looked at their shiny licensing rights to Star Wars and decided to try and stic🦹k their hand in the metaphorical cookie jar to fish out some Star Wars diehards that would spend their cash on anything with the brand, even if they had no previous interest in The Sims games. The Sims fans are calling the Star Wars pack a sellout because, well, it kinda is.

They've also been hilariously ignoring the blowback by doing things like tweeting at themselves about how exciting the expansion pack is. The truth is, fans are angry not because they hate Star Wars in particular, but because EA has been ignoring them. When EA has to be hassled even to do things as no-brainer as including more diverse skin tones so players no longer have to mod them in themselves, while at the same time surveying the fanbase only to ignor♎e the results and roll out a mega-franchise tie-in expansion instead, is it any wonder people are mad?
