Updated at 14:35 BST, 17/08/2023: The Walking Dead: Destinies has been officially revealed. Developed by Flux Games and published by GameMill Entertainment, this narrative-driven action-adventure is "coming soon", and it teases an alternate history based on the AMC series that we can shape, with the most noteworthy option shown being that Shane can kill Rick, drastically altering the timeline.
Last year, a Reddit user noticed a filing at the United States Patent and Trademark Office called "The Walking Dead: Destinies", described as a "downloadable PC video game". Little else was revealed about what this 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Walking Dead game would entail, but a report has surfaced claiming it is an alternate history retelling of the first four seasons of the AMC sh🍰ow.
claims that it's a third-person action-adventure title releasing on Xbox One, Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PS5, Steam, and Nintendo Switch, on November 14. It's also being published by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl publisher GameMill Entertainment, known for the 𒅌Cobra 💟Kai tie-in and Nick Kart Racers.
In The Walking Dead: Destinies, you will reportedly play 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rick Grimes, starting by waking up from his coma. With it spanning across the first four seasons, we'll be able to visit Atlanta, the Greene farm, the prison, and Woodbury, meaning we'll run into villains like The Governor. The alternate history aspect comes as a result of your actions, as Dealabs claims that you'll be able to control how the story unfolds, whether that's saving the villain or killing off characters who otherwise survived in the series.
Dealabs also claims to have dug out 15 characters that we'll meet throughout the game; Rick, Shane, Michonne, Daryl, Merle, Carol, Carl, Lori, Glenn, The Governor, and T-Dog. This list also confirms that it is a retelling of the show and not the comics, as Daryl, Merle, and T-Dog are original characters made for the series.
That means we'll spend more time on the farm, which was a much briefer storyline in the comics, find out about the infection at the CDC, and hopefully keep our hand after meeting The Governor.
While much of The Walking Dead: Destinies is allegedly action-driven, as you fight hordes of walkers with weapons like revolvers, shotguns, and katanas, there is also a strategy aspect as you'll have to find resources and build up your camp to survive the cruel conditions of its apocalyptic wasteland. A far cry from the gameplay loop of Telltale's The Walking Dead, and more story driven than the VR games.
If this report pans out, we won't have to wait long to get our hands on this new Walking Dead game, as it's also alleged that it will be announced at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gamescom next Tuesday.
