This quest consists solely of battling the Beast, which is easier said than done. As you proba﷽bly noticed in the quest's first cutscene, he's got a menacing set of claws and can move with inhuman agility. If you want to put him in his place, this guide will show you how.

Starting Blood Run

A screenshot of Geralt entering a warehouse, drawing his sword as he goes inside.

After being chased from the greenhouse in The Beast of Toussaint and being cornered in a warehouse in the city, the Beast will engage Geralt in a conversation, trying to suss out the witcher's motꦛivations.

Regardless of what you pick, you will be 🎉fighting himও.

While you will receive a 1,000 experience point reward for beating him, losing the fight will not force you to reload your save. The quest will co💙ntinue, but you won't receive the reward.

How To Beat The Beast Of Beauclair

A monster teleports behind Geralt as he prepares to strike it with his sword.

The Beast is a Higher Vampire, an exceptionally dangerous species that most witchers will refuse to fight. This deadliness is on full display in this fight. He will frequently teleport around the warehouse to skewer Geralt on his claws.

The battle consists of whittling his health down with whatever opportunities you can get. He will use two kinds of attacks throughout the fight.

Forward Charge

The Beast will charge at Geralt, slashing with his claws as he moves forward. Your best bet would be to dodge away, avoiding being hit altogether. If you are fast, you can get a hit or two in before he starts blocking your strikes.

Teleportation

In a maneuver that would coldly dispatch most victims, the Beast will teleport behind Geralt while you are trying to hit him. When you see him disappear, dodge forwards immediately. Delaying would put you at risk of being hit by a particularly deadly attack.

You will want to minimize being hit in this fight, considering just how much damage the Beast deals. Maintaining Quen and trapping him in Yrden will be particularly helpful.

Black Blood may be a tempting option, considering that he will take damage for harming Geralt. It is not advised at higher difficulties considering that Geralt may not be able to take more than one hit.

Once his health is depleted, a cutscene will play where Geralt is saved by his old vampiric friend Regis. The quest ends here, starting La Cage au Fou.
