This job will have you fightin💟g a small army of wraiths as you investigate the mist-coꦺvered lighthouse. These spectral monsters are hardly rare, though their numbers will keep the fight exciting. If you are struggling against them or with searching the lighthouse for clues, this guide will help you.

Starting Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg

An annotated map from The Witcher 3, with orange circles indicating where quest locations can be found.

There are four ways to start this contract.

The Notice Board

You can find the contract at Arinbjorn's notice board.

Talk To Jorund

He is in Arinbjorn's Tavern.

Beat Madman Lugos

Lugos will tell Geralt about the lighthouse if you fight him in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The King Is Dead, Long Live The King.

Investigate The Lighthouse

The lighthouse is hard to miss. You may have paid it a visit if 🌌you had chanced u♛pon it.

If you had picked up the contract from the notice board or are on the way to Jorund, your first step is to visit Arinbjorn's tavern. Geralt will be given a fros🍰ty welcome by Kori and Kraki, brothers who prefer non-Skellige൲rs out of the tavern.

Jorund, the person responsible for the contract, will see the pair off and invite Geralt for a drink. He will bring the contract up if you had not read it. Geralt will bring it up otherwise. Jorund tells Geralt that a pair of men sent to investigate the island and the lighthouse keeper had gon꧂e missing. He needs 🐷Geralt to find out what happened.

Investigating The Lighthouse

Geralt walks toward a lighthouse looming out of the fog as a specter holding a green lamp drifts toward him.

The lighthouse is far to the north of Arinbjorn, with several broken bridges between Geralt and it. You will encounter hostile bandits and Ekhidna on your way there.

While walking to the lighthouse is not a bad idea, taking a boat up north would be faster. Just be r💜eady for the Ekhidna attacking you.

Once you get to the lighthouse, you will be attacked by specters. Get comfortable fighting them because they will be the only monsters you see during this quest. Greasing your sword with Specter Oil would be a prudent decision.

After the first pair are killed, continue toward the lighthouse until you see a corpse on the road. Geralt notes that the man had tried and failed to escape the specters. Next, go to the house northeast of the body.

The lighthouse keeper, Mikkjal, is taking shelter inside. The specters had taken a toll on him, leaving him frightened. While he tries to give Geralt useful information, he can only say that there is a larger specter by the lighthouse. Geralt will need to investigate the lighthouse himself.

Mikkjal will give Geralt the key to the lighthouse. Make sure to use it before you end the quest because💜 the lighthouse will be 🐷inaccessible once it is over.

The lighthouse has a few containers to loot that you may miss out on otherwise.

There are only two things to investigate in the lighthouse.

Markings On The Wall

There is a set of symbols scratched into the lighthouse's wall. You can investigate them on the stairs leading to the entrance.

Geralt will identify the monster after interacting with this clue.

Letters To Mikkjal

Search the second floor of the lighthouse for a pile of letters addressed to Mikkjal. They show that he had deliberately let ships run aground for money.

The letters are easily missed. Geralt will not know about Mikkja💦l's crimes if the letters are not found, af⛎fecting the conclusion of the quest.

You can return to Mikkjal after checking the markings. The specter in question is a penitent, more powerful than a normal specter, and unkillable in the mist.

Killing The Penitent

Geralt fights a specter on an island with a lit lighthouse in the background.

Geralt will have Mikkjal help him kill the penitent. The lighthouse keeper will need to light the beacon to drive away the mist and render the penitent vulnerable. If you found the letters, Geralt will bring up Mikkjal's crimes before enlisting his help.

The pair will return to the lighthouse, where the penitent will attack Geralt. It fights similarly to the average specter, though it will summon specters during the fight.

Mikkjal will run for the lighthouse and will take some time to light it. You will be unable to harm the Penitent until Mikkjal lights the beacon.

Geralt will say when the lighthouse is lit, signaling when you can properly damage the penitent. It should be an easy fight from here on out. With the penitent dead, loot the trophy from its body.

If you had read the letters, you will have to decide if Mikkjal should continue working at the lighthouse or if he should seek employment elsewhere.

With the trophy in hand, you can return to Jorund for your payment. What happens next depends on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:King's Gambit.

King's Gambit Is Completed

Geralt will leave peacefully, with a fuller coin pouch.

King's Gambit Has Not Been Completed

Kori and Kraki will start a fight with Geralt and Jorund, leading to the latter's death. Geralt will be imprisoned, starting the quest Stranger In A Strange Land.
