Netflix's The Witcher series has certainly attracted a lot of new fans to the popular video game series, but even during these times of excess recreation, investing in multiple 100+ hour RPGs will likely turn off new players. Games Aren't Like Movies And TV

It's typically much easier to jump into the newest entry in a video game series. First of all, The Witcher series on Netflix does an excellent job of introducing the characters in The Witcher 3. There are some differences of course. A lot of us can get it into our heads that there's something fake about jumping into a long-running game series in the newest version. It may feel like there's a stigma around playing games you aren't a "real" fan of, but the reality is that no one else owns the right to play and enjoy a game no matter how long they've been a fan. Don't deny yourself something you want because you think you don't deserve it. You can and should play The Witcher 3 if you want to. It's an exceptional game that can absolutely be enjoyed even if you've never played The Witcher or The Witcher 2.
