Dandelion is a who doesn't really do combat or anything that useful. At best, he's a great friend. He also loves to try and hit on ladies and would need a partner who would put up with his antics with a smile. Renfri is a tragic character no matter what way you tell her story and needs a partner who feels the same. Duskull is a Pokémon who is great at remaining🤡 hidden just like Renfri and has a love for stalking its target.
The Pokedex entree for Duskull even states that once it h𓆉as a victim in mind, it won't give up to it has found its target, which is eerily similar to Renfri's mindset.
