168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher is one of the hottest properties in fantasy, especially now that there’s no Game of Thrones to keep fans busy. Meanwhile, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is undoubtedly one of the best video games of all time, with great gameplay, an amazing plot and unforgettable characters. In the game, players take control of Geralt oܫf Rivia, a witcher who is searching for his adopted daughter, Ciri, who i👍s running from an otherworldly force called the Wild Hunt.
The home of the witchers is Kaer Morhen. It is an old keep where witchers used to receive training and undergo mutations. However, the keep was attacked decades ago by fanatics who believed witchers were abominations; they murdered both students and teachers. Kaer Morhen never recovered from this, and in The Witcher 3, it looks like a ruin. That said, Kaer Morhen is a keep full of secrets and interesting lore. So,💛 here are things you probably did not know about the keep.
10 Its Name Comes From The 🌃Sea
Ages ago, Kaer Morhen was surrounded by the sea. This is where its name came from: the original title was Caer a'Muirehen 🐽in the world’s elder speech, which was the language spoken by elves. In the common tongue, Caer ඣa'Muirehen translated to “Keep of the Elder Sea”, suggesting that the keep might have once had a connection to elves.
For gamers who pay close attention to details, finding proof of this is not that challenging. The land surrounding Kaer Morhen has various fossils belonging to sea creatures, and ♛one can also see the fossils in the stones 🔥on which the keep was constructed.
9 🐟 🌜 Kaer Morhen Was Attacked
Over 50 years before Ciri, the Child of Destiny, was even born, Kaer Morhen was attacked in an i🌊ncident that almost erased witchers from the world. Fanatics whose mistrust of witchers had reached a problematic level attacked the keep and murdered most of t♐he teachers and students they found, no matter how old or young.
Vesemir was one of the few w🌺itchers who survived the attack, and by the time the events of the Wild Hunt unfold, he is the only surviving witcher from the Kaer Morhen attack. Even though the attack took place over half a century ago, the witchers recovered their numbers.
8 Witchers Re🎉st There🐠
Kaer Morhen might not be the fortress it once was. However, the few remaining witchers still recognize it as their home. So, it’s no surꦇprise that the likes of Geralt head to Kaer Morhen to rest when they are done with their missions.
Even though it’s in poor condition and will probably fall even further into ruin, Kaer Morhen is the one place where witchers can rest without having to be careful of a knife in the dark or a monster attack. That’s part of the reason why🃏 Geralt brought Ciri there: it’s safe, away from judging eyes and a good place to train.
7 Few People Live The🎃re
Decades ago, Kaer Morhen was a thriving castle with plenty of witchers and witchers-in-training. However, this all ended when the p🎃aranoid neighboring vill🌞ages attacked the keep with the help of mages and decimated the witcher population. The keep never recovered, and only a handful of witchers remained. Because the world still had monsters that needed killing, most of these witchers spent a lot of their time traveling to slay the monsters.
This left oܫnly Vesemir, one of the few surviving witchers and the oldest among them, as a witcher who still lived in Kaer Morhen.
6 Mages🌼 🌱Aided Kaer Morhen’s Attackers
Training for witchers is excruciating and potentially fatal for anyone who undergoes it. So, it was vi♎tal that the trials happen somewhere safe. The witchers chose Kaer Morhen because it was hidden deep within the mountains and could offer safety from both humans and monsters.
That said, fanatics were still able to infiltrat🗹e the keep and slaughter the witcher students and teachers. By themselves, they should have found this an impossible task. However, they received aid from mages, who probably created portals to the keep. Otherwise, their only option would have been to target witchers outside the keep, which wo⛦uld have been a risky endeavor.
5 The Keep Is Anci🅷ent
Kaer Morhen ꦆis located close to the Gwenllech River, within the Kingdom of Kaedwen. It is basically an old castle that was buil🌱t on a mountainside and as far from civilization as possible. Getting to it is an impossible task for most people, and that was the point when it was constructed.
Long ago, the 🎐castle was massive, impenetrable and intimidating. However, after it was attacked by fanatics, the keep has started to look its age. Thi𝄹s is no surprise as, despite their strength and resilience, only a handful of witchers still reside in the castle.
4 ꧅ It Has A Dangero𒁏us Trail
Kaer Morhen was located deep within the mountains, like a fortress no outsider was ever meant to reach. And it’s not just the location that helped to cement the keep 🐷as a place impossible to access.
After its location, Kaer Morhen also had a trail that would ☂put off most people because of how dangerous it was. The trail was, naturally, referred to as the Witcher’s Trail. Other than helping to protect the keep, the trail also acted like an obstacle course; a potentially fatal one, at that. Witchers in training had to learn the trail and overcome all of its obstacles.
3 ℱ 🍨 Ciri Trains There
Kaer Morhen was built to be a fortress for witchers, where they could train new witchers and use it as a home and a haven. Even though the keep was attacked and almost everyone murdered, it sti𝓡ll retains this function; albeit at a much smaller scale.
According to the books, Ciri spent about a year in Kaer Morhen, training to be a witcher. Geralt taught her to fight and she went through the Witcher’s Trail—which she survived. However, she did not undergo the same mutations as the other witchers🙈 while they were going through their trials.
2 ꦰ 🔯 Only One Path Leads To It
Kaer Morhen was able to become a witcher stronghold for so long because of how remote the place was, and how tough it was for normal꧅ folk to reach it. Another thing that helped to cement the security of the keep was that, outside the influence of magic, there was only one way to reach it.
This was the infamous Witcher’s Trail, which was fatal for most people who were lucky—or unlucky—enough to find it. Even after Kaer Morhen was🍌 attacked, the keep remained remote and inaccessible thanks to this impossibly dangerous path, discouraging everyone other than witchers from taking it.
1 🤪 It Has Strong Winds ♎
Because🐈 of its location high in the mountains, Kaer Morhen faces incredibly strong winds. Even though no one—save for Vesimir—uses the keep as a permanent residence, the wind can clearly be heard all over Kaer Morhen, from the highest point to the entrance.
In fact, the decrepit state of the keep has made the winds stronger, making the place seem uninviting. Geralt and Cir🎉i come to the keep so that Ciri can be safe and can train to be a witcher. However, it’s a miracle 🌜that the winds never blew Ciri off the peak during her training.
