Right off the bat in The Witcher-- the first game, Triss w𝓀as already looking bad in the eyes of anyone who has read the books. Geralt began his adventure in tha▨t game as an amnesiac with no memory of Yennefer.
To Triss, this was a perfect opportunity to start fresh with Geralt and without Yennefer's influence... initially. It succeeded... for a while. Triss even posed as a lover with a history with Geralt (essentially replacing Yennefer) even though she was noth𝓀ing more than a friend in their past interactions.
8 GENUINEﷺ: HELPING GERALT CLEAR HIS NAME
During the events of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Geralt's name was thrust neck-deep in hogwash after he became the suspect of a regicide. Whether Triss was involved in this or not (as it was the Lodge oဣf Sorceresses' plan), she stilꩲl helped Geralt.
In fact, Triss even nearly died trying to help Geralt clear his name vindicate himself of his supposed crimes. Triss could have easily laid back and retreated in the comforts of the Lodge of Sorceresses but she risked her life for Geral🧸t's reputation.
7 MANIP✃ULATIVE: NOT TELLING GERALT HIS P﷽AST
Geralt having amnesiꦚa made him a blank slate and someone easily exploited during the first game. While his witcher buddies made sure he was taken care of they-- along with Triss, really could have filled Geralt in on what happened.
Triss, most importantly, should have been more honest with Geralt about his past life and who he was with. Sure, most of them assumed Yennefer was dead, but Triss could have at least told Geralt that assumﷺption and let him grieve before sinking her claws into him.
6 GENUINE: M🌠AKING FUTURE PLANS INCLUDING GERALT⛎
For her heroic deed in saving the Novigrad mages and magic users, Trisಞs apparently gained the approval and favor of the king of Kovir where she was offered an advisor position. It could have been her plan all along but she still risked her life in saving the mages.
How Triss handled it by incorporating Geralt into her future life plans was quite positive. She was even reluctant to tell Geralt about it at 🉐first, fearing that he might reject the idea-- not like she f🧸orced him into it or decided for him; Triss at least let Geralt choose like an adult.
5 MANIPULATIVE: SCHEMING WITH THE LODGE BEHIND GERALT'♒S BACK
Sadly, there were also many times wh🃏ere Triss treated Geralt like a child just like Yennefer did. Being members of the Lodge, they often kept Geralt in the dark about the group's machinations and schemes.
This most notably happened duri♎ng the first game where Geralt was apparently a part of the Lodge's plans. Triss was also debatably involved in the Lodge's plans of dominance through regicide during the second game.
4 GENUINE: SHE LOST THE LODGE'S F🦹AVOR TO BE WITH GERALT
One sound theory why Triss isn't as high up in the Lodge as Yennefer or the others or how she seems sidelined by the Lodge come the second and third games, is likely due to her attachment with 🐲Geralt.
After all, Triss has a penchant to be honest, unlike Yennefer, and she ends up keeping Geralt in the loop. Thꩵis made the Lodge lose a chunk of their trust for Triss as she stayed with Geralt longer. Besides, it would also seem that she was never really into the Lodge's plans.
3 MANIPULATIVE: HER OBSESSION WITH GERALT IS TOXIC 𓂃 ꦿ
It might seem that Triss' romance with Geralt officially s🅰tarted in the games but it has been brewing for a long time. Triss was already eyeing Geralt in the books and was extremely jealous of Yenn🔥efer.
Liking someone and pursuing them-- eveಌn makingꦓ advances on them despite their being committed to someone else is just toxic behavior on Triss' part. She was just plain obsessed with Geralt and the happiness Yennefer felt while with him.
2 GENUINE:🌌 HER LOVE FOR GERALT IN THE GAMES ISN'T MAGIC
One could argue that Geralt's love for Yennefer isn't even ge🍌⭕nuine since its roots were traced back with a wish granted by a Djinn. This makes Geralt's attachment with Yennefer appear less authentic or natural.
Triss, on the other hand, really liked Geralt. The games made Geralt like Triss back (thank you, amnesia). It's more organic that way minus the manipu♕lation and the omission part but keep in mind that Triss has loved Geralt long before Yennefer even disappeared.
