Who Are The Wild Hunt?

Most of the people within the Witcher universe believe that The Wild Hunt are all specters that ride on undead horses. That's certainly what the creatures want you to think, as it makes them more intimidating, but it's not actually the truth. They're not undead or ghostly beings - they're elves.

Yet, they're not the same as the likes of Iorveth or Francesa Findabair. The members of The Wild Hunt are a different race of elf known as the Aen Elle, who live in a completely distinct world to the one Gera🥀lt and his friends inhabit. They serve as a type of military force for the Aen Elle, and they 🐈use slaves from other worlds to do their bidding.

What Are Their Goals?

The Wild Hunt's purpose is to transport to different worlds and capture the humans that live there. Then, they bring these people back home and use them as slaves. In Witcher 3, however, they have an additional goal of getting their hands on Ciri. They want her because of the Elder Blood running through her veins.

You see, The Wild Hunt may seem impervious, but they have their weaknesses, particularly when it comes to traveling across worlds. As silly as it sounds, they originally fo🔯rced Unicorns to h♋elp them teleport by opening the Gate of the Worlds. This allowed The Hunt to enter other universes freely.

But the Unicorns eventually managed to close the gate, meaning The ღWild Hunt can now only transport small groups of people at a time. And they really need to get moving as the White Frost promises to destroy their home. They believe that by harnessing Ciri's natural power, they can move all their people into Geralt's world and take over.

And with the amount of time it takes them to track down the heroine, they probably could've brought enough people over to start the invasion. So, why do 🦩they want her so badly? Geralt stops them before the world can find out.

Notable Members

While y﷽ou face The W♕ild Hunt plenty of times during The Witcher 3, most of your opponents are generic hounds. You don't meet many actual members of the group. But there are still a few notable ones:

  • Eredin - Despite not being168澳洲幸运5开奖网: the hardest boss to take down in The Witche𒀰r 3, Eredin is the leader of The Wild Hunt, thus the main antagonist of the game series. He used to be just a General before he assassinated his own King to take the position for himself. Unsurprisingly, he's a cruel individual.
  • Imlerith - Imlerith is one of the most trusted Generals in Eredin's army. Like his King, he's a vicious being that expresses no sympathy for his victims.
  • Caranthir - Without the Gate of the Worlds, The Wild Hunt needs navigators to help them travel to other universes. Caranthir is the main one proving teleportation for the rest of the group.
  • Nithral - Little is known about Nithral as he only has a small role in The Witcher 3. Yet, he is a fearsome warrior who gives Geralt and Kiera Metz a tough fight.
  • Geralt - Despite not being an Aen Elle, the series protagonist spent some time riding with The Wild Hunt. He wasn't exactly a willing member, though, as he only ended up in that situation when he traded his life for Yennefers. Thankfully, Ciri ended up freeing him from The Hunt's evil grasp.
