Calling! You hear it calling! T💜he release date for anime has been announced; Neku will be starting the Reaper's Game in April.

learned that the anime will be premiering in Japan in just over four months' time. Accorꦏding to (I know, 🍬the irony), it will be simulcast on Funimation for western territories.

The anime also just received its second trailer and a new visual featuring the foes that Neku and the gang will face. You'll notice one of the characters in the picture Sho Minamimoto is a party member in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ:next game NEO: The World Ends With You. Interesting!

The new trailer mostly sho꧑wcases the beginning of the story with some outstanding animation that is true to the original game's artwork. It really looks like the characters were ripped from The World Ends With You, remastered, and then animated. The video also features the opening theme of the show "Teenage City Riot" by ALI, which sounds pretty rocking!

The anime is being produced by Shin-Ei Animation, who is known for their work on Crayon Shinchan and Doraemon, and this studio has been in the industry since the 70s. The World Ends With You so far seems to be in good hands, and perhaps if this does well, it could lead to more Square Enix properties being adapted. Imagine a NieR or Kingdom Hearts anime with this style of animation? Or an original story set in the universe of Final Fantasy X or XIII? We'd totally be in. We doubt Kingdom Hearts would get one though, as even 𒁃Final🌺 Fantasy XIV can't get a crossover to happen.

According to series producer Tetsuya Nomura (via ), the animation will be leading up to the new game NEO: The World Ends With You. This title will feature an all-new protagonist and is bringing the series into the 3D realm for the first time since its DS debut. The new game will be releasing surprisingly soon for the Nin🀅tendo Switch and PS4 sometime next summer. The news of the anime following up a new title in the series makes you wonder if the show will change the events of the original game a-la Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. We'll just have to wait and see.
