Into the Inklands hits hobby store shelves this Friday, and there are a lot of reasons for Lorcana fans to be excited. Thജe set adds 204 new cards that will open up lots of new strategies, as well as locations - a brand new card type that will likely have a big impact on the game.

From a deck-building ♛perspective, the most exciting thing about a new set is getting to revisit older cards to🥃 hopefully find a place for them in the new meta. What was once considered binder trash can suddenly become a top-tier card with the right synergies, so, as we look ahead to everything new coming in Into the Inklands, we have to look at everything that’s already come out, too.

Here are four previously unplayable cards that may fina🔴lly find the deck they belong in this season.

Mulan, Imperial Soldier

Mulan, Imperial Soldier

Mulan is one of those cards that seems like it should be great, but never really fit in any deck. Control archetypes like Ruby/Amethys♋t have better ways to remove tꦚhreats from the board than challenging, and without rush, Mulan telegraphs your intention to your opponents, making it difficult to do the thing that Mulan wants to do.

Rise of the Floodborn gave us a lot of new ‘challenging matters’ tools with Shere Khan, Menacing Predator; Queen of Hearts, Sensing Weaಞkness; Scar, Viscous Cheater; and some other powerful Rush characters like Madam Mim, Fox and Peter Pan’s Shadow, but there still wasn’t enough there to bring the challenger deck together.

Jim Hawkins' RLS Legacy Is The Lorcana Location Card He, And We, Have Been Waiting For

Jim needed the RLS Legacy, and we needed a location that's꧃ going to be a big deal.

After three sets, we might finally have the tools we need to make a challenger deck work. Sumerian Talisman is a new Ruby item that rewards you for banishing your own 🌳characters in a challenge - a nice compliment to Queen of Hearts - while the new Ruby location, Jolly Roger, gives ༺us a cheap way to give characters like Mulan rush. It seems like a Ruby/Steel Pirate deck is coming in the new set, and Mulan could fit in well there as a late-game closer to give you a quick burst of lore.

Beast, Relentless

lorcana beast, relentless card by eri welli

A lot of people expected Beast, Relentless to be a game changer for Emerald when he was first revealed during Rise of the Floodborn’s spoiler season, but being a slow and more situational card that relied on you having other cards to give him valu🌼e made this six-cost character virtually unplayable. To make matters worse, Emerald struggled to find much relevance in the current season outside of the B-tier discard decks, so Beast never ended up reaching his potential.

There’s a few reasons to give this Beast another look in the new season. One is this new 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pseudo-infinite loop that ꧃combines Beast, The Bayou, and Sheriff♋ of Nottingham, Corrupt Official into a combination board wipe and massive lore rush. It could be overpowered, it could be game breaking, or it could just be complete jank. We’ll just have to wait and see how useful this combo actually is.

Even if this particular loop turns out to be a little too Magic Christmas Land, the Emerald/Steel Ping deck does have a lot of new tools for this Beast. Beyond Sheriff of Nottingham, there’s also Simba, Fighting Prince, Helga Sinclair, Femme Fatale; Ba-Boom!, Robin’s Bow, and Thaddeus E. Klang to help spread the damage around in new ways. The new Emerald location Fang can be used to give Beast Ward and Evasive, making him harder to remove. The damage ping deck will continue to improve with each set, but Beast might already be🥂 playable with the tools we have here.

Gantu, Galactic Federation Captain

Just kidding, Gantu is still the worst Legendary

Sebastian, Court Composer

Sebastian court composer lorcana

This is a fun one. When Sebastian was introduced in The First Chapter, Hakuna Matata was the only four-cost song in the game, so there was no reason to play him. Rise of the Floodborn gave us Four Dozen Eggs, which still isn’t great, and Amber/Sapphire isn’t a competitive color combo either. Singer 5 characters like Ar🥀iel, Spectacular Singer and Gaston, Baritone Bully and the Singer 3 Cinderella, Ballroo💮m Sensation are indispensable in Steelsong, but there hasn’t been any need for a Singer 4 yet.

And Then Along Ca🔯me Zeus. This four-cost song is currently the best Location removal in the game next to Maui, and naturally, it’s in Steel. If Locations are widely used, Steelsong players will likely want to slot Sebastian and this song into their deck to deal with early-gamꦗe threats. Even against non-Location decks, Sebastian is still a two that sings all the three-cost songs, and there’s plenty of those to go around.

A🔜s a bonus, Sebasti🃏an also sings How Far I’ll Go in the new set. Could Amber/Sapphire start coming together thanks to one previously useless crab? You’d love to see it.

The Musketeers

Okay, hear me out on this one. There’s a lot of reasons the Musketeer’s never see play. They don’t curve well, their synergy ♔isn’t particularly potent, plus they’re all Bodyguard, and as we know, when everything is a Bodyguard, nothing is. I’m a big fan of Donald&rsqu🥃o;s 2/5 stat line, but it’s easy to see why Musketeers haven’t found their niche yet, even with the card draw support from Musketeer Tabard.

There’s a couple of things coming with Into the Inklands that makes me want to give the Musketeers a second look, though. Little John, Resourceful Outlaw is a new Floodborn Steel character that gives every Bodyguard Resist +1 and an extra lore, which 🅺means the more Bodyguards you have in play, the better.

Little John makes The Prince, Never Give Up a three-cost character with Resist +2 that quests for three, a frankly absurd stat l꧃ine, while Pluto, Determined Defender, is a massive 3/8 that can heal itself for three damage at the start of every turn. I’m also impressed by Baloo, von Bruinwald XIII, a 0/3 that gives you two lore w❀hen it’s banished.

When you rea𓃲lize there are so many great Bodyguard characters between Amber and Steel, it’s not hard to see how the Musketeers fit into that deck as well. Shifting Little John on turn four and following up with Goofy, Musketeer and Mickey Mouse, Musketeer on turns five and six feels like a great way to build a defensive stronghold of high Willpower, high lore characters with Resist.

With a little extra support from Musketeer Tabard, Mouse Armor, or some of the new locations like Maui’s Place of Exil🤪e, Pride Lanꦇds, and Tiana’s Palace, there’s a chance a Musketeer deck could finally work.
