One of the things that help with The Last of Us 2’s finer details is that it’s packed with things for players to discover. Whether it is alluding the original game and its stand-alone DLC Left Behind or leaving behind little Easter Eggs for gamers to discover there’s never a shortage of things to keep players entertained in an otherwise somber and depressing setting. Let’s take a look at 10 things fans may have missed in The Last of Us Part 2.
10 Savage Starlight 📖 ⛦

In the opening level where players will get to explore Ellie’s room, they will notice quite a few posters and toys that allude to the original The Last of Us. One of the posters on the wꦦall references the same “Savage Starlight” comics from the first game despite Ellie complaining to Joel that she di♒dn’t really like the cliffhanger ending.
9 🧔 Sam’s Robot Toy
Further inspection of Ellie’s room in Jackson will reveal a blue robot toy that resembles figu♑re Soundwave from the 1980s. This is the same robot that Ellie took from a store in the first game to give it to a young b💮oy called Sam.
Sadly, Sam became infected and Ellie had intended to place the robot toy on his grave but forgot. She obviously kept the robot in Sam’s memory despite Joel tellin🐬g Ellie that she needed to move on.
8 ﷽ PS3 Naughty D🌳og’s Back Catalogue
Another interesting item that can be found in Ellie’s room is one of the original PlayStation 3 models which is also commonly known as the “Fat PlayStation 3” among gamers. Next to the console players will be able to spot two PS3 games🐻 perched up next to it.
The first game is the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jak & Daxter Collection an action-adventure platforming series developed by Naughty Dog and of course 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Uncharted which is arguably the developer’s most popular franchise.
7 The Strange Reꦇlic
The references to Naughty Dog’s series doesn’t just end with finding a few copies of the games laying around. In one of the game’s coolest references, Ellie can find something♍ called a “Strange Relic” in Chinatown.
Of course, the “Strange Relic” is a reference to Precursor Orbs that can be collected in the Jak & Daxter series. These artifacts have also appeared in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Uncharted series on several occasions as collectibles.
6 Nathan Drake’s Ring 💃
The ruins of Seattle is a surprisingly large area to explore and offers its players far more freedom than its predecessor did. Thankfully, Naughty Dog has made exploration as rewarding as possible by hi💦ding several collectibles and Easter Eggs all over its world.
Players should eventually come across the remnants of the Westlake Bank with a shotgun and some lockboxes. Hidden in one of the lockboxes in the very same ring that Nathan Drake wears around his neck in the series.
5 All Calendars End In 2013 🥃
The world-building and attention to detail in The Last of Us are some of the most detailed and well-crafted in the action-adventure and horror genre. In addition to finding what would have been Sony’s last console the PlayStation 3’s scattered around tౠhere are other important references there for the sake of continuity.
A quick look at the calendars that can be found scattered around The Last of Us Part 2’s world will reveal that they all stop in October 2013. The Cordyceps outbreak began to spread in late September 2013 and would have become a♍ full-blown plague by October 2013.
4 ღ Joke book – Left Behind DLC
Going back to Ellie’s room in Jackson players will find a reference to a joke book that was found in The Last of Us – Left Behind DLC. The joke book in question is called “No Pun Inteﷺnded” and it’s a book filled with jokes that are amusing because they’re so bad.
In the Left Behind DLC that accompanied the first game, Ellie and her best friend Riley are exploring the shopping mall together which is where they discover the joke book. Just ⭕like Sam’s ro🅺bot, Ellie obviously keeps the book as a memento.
3 T🍸he Giraffes
One of the most iconic scenes in The Last of Us was the touching mome🌳nt where Ellie and Joel find and interact with a herd of wild giraffes that escaped from the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. However, the giraffes are a recurring theme seemingly representing innocence in the series and can be found in many places where children are involved.
For example, the first can be found in Sarah’s bedroom or at the school in Bill’s Town during the original game. The Last of Us Part 2 continues that tradition with the first being found in t💖he library and interacting with it will prompt Ellie to make a note in her journal.
2 Code 0451
The Code 0451 has become something of a running joke in video games that began with the very first game as 451 and System Shock 2 as 45100. It later appeared in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Deus Ex, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bioshock, Prey, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dishonored, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Alien: Isolation, and more.
In the Last of Us Part 2, the Checkpoint Gate Codes artifact can be found early in the game for the West 2 Safe and the code for this safe is 0451. System Shock director Warren Spector revealed that the codeꦿ was simply the office access code to the Looking Glass Studios’ office.
1 The Arcade 𝔉
In another throwback to The Last of Us – Left Behind DLC as well Naughty Dog’ღs previous works♈, Ellie will have the opportunity to find the remains of an arcade store in the flood area of the city.
Here Ellie will find cabinets with the Jak X: Combat Racing logo a game that was released on the PlayStation 2 and was included in the Jak & Daxter Precursor Legacy Collection for the PlayStation 4. In addition to Jak X, there’s also the fictional game called "The Turning" which Ellie played in the Left Behind DLC.
