For the first time in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokémon history, games from the mainline released on a console. Poké fans are outwardly exuberant since they have wished for a main series console game for years. Played on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo Switch platform, Sword and Shield are filled 🌱with the 𓂃potential for greatness, but also woes and shattered dreams.
Before you celebrate, it should be known that Sword and Shield are far from perfect. Some Poké fans are upset with developer Game Freak for a plethora of reasons. Let's take a closer look and see why. These are 5 things we loved about Pokémon Sword & Shield (and 5 things we don’t).
10 🔯 Love: Artwork
Pokémon Sword and Shield are the most significant leaps in graphics seen in a Pokémon game thus far. The artwork is on point, as players will find themselves engrossed in the game's beautiful scenery. The draw distances are further than ever before, and the attention to detail is immaculat💙e.
One significant reason why Pokémon Sword and Shield is impressive is because of its beautiful artwork that is more creative as the game moves forward. Places like Spikemuth are dark and eer🤪ie, whereas a city like Balloonlea is majestic and enchanting.
9 ⛦ Don't: On﷽e Region
The second generation of Pokémon games is widely considered to be the greatest of all time because of its expansive world. The second-generation features two regions, which almost double🌌s the length of the game. Some may feel that the second generation dragged on, and they 𒀰are entitled to their opinion.
To see one region in Pokémon Sword and Shield is disappointing, even if it includes a sizeable wilderness. The level of detail is without a doubt higher in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Galar region, but because of❀ its size, the game feels short in comparison to previous generations.
8 Love: New Pokémon 💯 🌜
Of course, fans of the series expect an abundance of new Pokémon with each game release. Pokémon Sword and Shield added more than 200 Pokémon from previous games, and that's not including the new ones t𝓡hey൩ added.
Harnessing the power of the Nintendo Switch, each design of new and existing Pokémon is breathtaking. Take Scorbunny, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fire-type starter of the Galar region, for example. This design has won the ap🦄preciation of fans arou🍌nd the world for its simplicity and originality.
7 Don't: Too Many Tutorials ♔
Hop essentially acts as a tutorial guide throughout Pokémon Sword and Shield. We♒ understand that new players are jumping in for the first time and may require an explanation.
However, part of the enjoyment of the Pokémon games is figuring out how to progress. Pokémon Sword and Shield undoubtedly has the most extensive tutorial section of the series. The tutorials are frustrating🥀 for players who are adept Pokémon trainers. Perhaps ther꧂e should have been a 'skip' option.
6 Love: An Intriguing Story ಌ ඣ
Once you🐈 overlook some of the game's flaws, you can see that it has a genuinely intriguing story. The Galar legend combined with a wide array of likable characters mesh for an unbeatable story that we want to replay very soon.
The Pokémon Company took bold chances with their story, which🧸 could have ended up hurting them. Perhaps it would have been better if Te𒈔am Yell was the main villain of the story, yet the surprising direction the story took makes the games praiseworthy.
5 🔯 Don't: Missing Mega-Evolutions
After many fans of the series enamored over the introduction of mega-evolutions, it was shocking to see it mysteriously missing from ꦑIt was a disputable decision for The Pokémon Company to remove mega-evolutions and replace them with dynamaxing.
For🎀 players who spent the time to collect each mega-evolution stone, to see the feature missing was a shock. Mega-evolutions introduced new forms of our favorite Pokémon, and it's something that needs to return.
4 Love: Immersive Battles ♏
We can't get enough of Sword and Shield's immersive battles, which is partly credited to its revolutionary dynamaxing. Dynamaxing combines mega-evolutions with Z-moves to form one massive power-up. Dynamxing is a tide-shifting game mechanic that we would like to see in a future Pokémon game.
Since the battles are so engrossing, we have to say they are impressive. The Nintendo Switch showcases some of the most mind-blowing battle animations we've seen yet. Furthermore, online battles make it easier than ever to face friends. As long as Pokémon battles improve with each new game, Pokémon will never grow stale.
3 ൲ Don't: 𝕴It Should Have Spoken Dialogue
It would be a considerable leap for Pokémon if it introduced voice acting. In games as lengthy as Pokémon Sword and Shield, an abundance of written dialogue m💞eans an over🌳burdening amount of reading for the player.
The addition of spoken dialogue could fix this issue and add more depth to the game. Text is far less effective at conveying emotion than spoken dialogue. Although Pokémon Sword and Shield has interesting 🍰written dialogue, it isn't impressive.
2 Love: Sound Effects 🌞
Unfortunately, to unlock the sound settings of🌳 the gꦏame, players have to speak to an optional NPC. This NPC gives you the item named 'Hi-tech earbuds,' which allows you to control the sound effects.
Aga🤡in, this is another feature that has divided fans, but it's still a step-up from previous games that didn't allow you to adjust sound controls like background music and Pokémon cries. In-bat𒆙tle sounds add to the enjoyability of the game. Overall, the sounds of the games are pleasing, which is why they're deemed impressive.
1 Don't: Team Yell 🍰
Even though the personalities of Team Yell members mildly amused us, we can't help but make comparisons to other 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:villainous teams of the past. When we think of our favorite Pokémon teams, n🦄ames such as Team R🍨ocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic, and Team Rainbow Rocket come to mind.
Team Yell plays more of a minor part of the game. They rudely interrupt the player throughout the game, including before a gym battle. There was much p💖otential for Team Yell that was squandered. Had they played a more substantial part in the game's plot, we may have admired their wicked ways.
