Reporter Claire Campbell has tweeted that the movie will mark the largest-ever film production in South Australia and it's expected to create 580 jobs and inject $70 million AUD into the local economy. Pre-production on MK should begin later this month. Premier Steven Maꦇrshall has revealed that filming will take place in Adelaide while post-production will be taken care of by VFX Studios in the ♍same region.
"Mortal Kombat will be the largest film production in South Australia's history and highlights the importance of engaging with the world's major production houses," Marshall said at a news conference (h/t ). "The State Government's investment in Mortal Kombat will enhance the scope and reach of our proဣduction and post-production capabilities, bringing the promise of fantastic new jobs for the local film industry."
This movie has been in development for a very long time and that it's finally poised for production should come as wonderful news to fans, especially given the recent release of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mortal Kombat 11.
Australian commercials director Simon McQuoid will be making his film directorial debut as part of the project while James Wan, the man who directed Aquaman, will be producing.
Australia seems to be the go-to for huge films nowadays and Mortal Kombat is only the latest. Marvel already announced plans to film an upcoming Marvel C𓆏inematic Universe film in Sydney earlier this year, and this newest bit looks set to make things even better.
The original Mortal Kombat movie dropped in 1995 and was directed by Paul W.S Anderson, who went on to make the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Resident Evil series. It raked in more than $120 million worldwide but the second movie, Annihilation, which followed two years after, on𒅌𒀰ly made $51 million.
There's also been an internet series called Mortal Kombat Legacy, which ran from 2011-2013.
