FIFA 22 is set to launch on October 1, so the news in FIFA this week is more about FIFA 22 warming up than FIFA 21 cooling down. The Premier League season is well underway now, with every club having two games under th༺eir belts, VAR controversy aplenty, and a first goal for £100m man Jack Grealish. It will be a month or so before FIFA news heats up the way the Premier League has, but there have still been some interesting stories in the world of FIFA this week.

Volta Arcade

The mini games in FIFA aren’t great, and Volta isn’t that popular. So, of course, FIFA 22 is trying to combine them, hoping that it borrows the popularity of the mini games and the quality of Volta, whichඣ would make for a pretty solid mode. Of course, it could also end up with the quality of current mini games and the popularity of Volta, which would make for a rub💟bish mode nobody played. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Anyway, V🍎olta Arcade is a weekend-only mode including the likes of Foot Tennis and Dodgeball. While the current mini games are about f𒅌ine tuning skills on the pitch, these are just a bit of a laugh. That’s exactly what the dry and dull drills need.

Volta Goes FIFA Street

Volta FIFA 22

The other major FIFA news this week also concerns Volta, which makes sense considering we had some Volta Pitch Notes from EA just a f꧋ew days ago. Volta made its debut in FIFA 20, where it was a decent idea held back by its gameplay. Volta was supposed to be a spiritual successor to FIFA Street, using the more expressive, skill based ideals of street football over the organised tactics of the elite game.

The problem is it ran on the same engine as the base game, where skills are a luxury and gameplay is realistic. FIFA Street🎃 let you foul players, allowed for handball as part of skill moves, and made tricks easier and more satisfying. In FIFA 22, Volta is trying to be more like FIFA Street. There’s a new skill meter, signature abilities, a robust skills tree, and a greater emphasis on flair. It probably needs a few iterations to reach FIFA Street’s leve♕l of quality, but it seems that FIFA 22 is trying to get there.

Real Betis Parodies GTA

This last story isn’t anything to do with FIFA, but it’s football and gami🌌ng, plus it’s funny, so we’re including it. Don’t like it? Ca𒆙ll the cops.

Speaking of cops, Real Betis, the club that gave us Joaquin and not much else, signed Argentina centre back German Pezella this week, and in true moওdern football style, the club announced his signing via a tailor made video. We’ve had Aston Villa make a fake WhatsApp group to annouღnce the signing of John Terry, Sevilla stage a kidnapping for Jesus Navas, and the glorious “Come to Besiktas!” video, but we now have a new champion.

For some reason, known only to Betis PR, the Pezella signing was announced via 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a live action GTA parody, meshing together San Andreas and GTA 4, ending with Pezella being presented with the shirtꩵ as ‘Mission Complete’ appeared on the screen. Brilliant.
