I’m relieved that the week I moved house was a week where significantly less happened in than usual, because 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the FOMO has been brutal. That said, there have still been some developments and new additions since 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:last week’s column, so let’s get into it.
Choose Your Fighter
This week has been a bit of a lull period, though since the last few weeks of developments have been nonstop, I’m seeing it as more of players being rewarded with an intentional break. I was convinced that last week’s most important Major Order, Operation Enduring Bulwark, was doomed – when I wrote about Helldivers 2 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:needing a more centralised community, there was a day and a half left in the Order and six planets left to defend. To my great surprise, the Operation ended up being a success, though I have a feeཧling Game Master Joel had 🐬much to do with that.
It’s worth noting that part of this win can 🉐be attributed to luck (or, again, Joel’s magnanimity). Fori Prime was attacked right before next-door Oshaune was liberated. Because of supply lines, reclaiming Oshaune also liberated Fori Prime. Both planets were counted towards the Major Order.
We got a brief🔯 break from Major Orders to celebrate, and presumably so both we and Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead could go touch some grass and think about something else other than Super Earth-sanctioned murder. It was then that Arrowhead teased two new stratagems on its Twitter account with the caption “This is Managed Democracy manifest”.
After whipping up enough fervour over the 🐻vague hint, the next Major Order was revealed: Operation Legitimate Undertaking. We’re now in Phase 1, in which we have to liberate two planets. Both Choohe and Penta have to be liberated, and whichever we liberated first would give us a different stratagem to unlock. . Considering most people don’t really like or use minefields, the communꦕity gravitated towards freeing Penta first.
In yet another win, Penta was liberated and the Airburst Rocket Launcher was made available for purchase. But the Major Order isn’t completed yet – at the time of writing, there’s only five hours left to liberate Choohe, and the planets around it, Menkent and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:my most despised planet Chort Bay, are still under Automaton🌄 attack. It’s unclear what happens if we aren’t able to liberate Choohe in time. It’s unlikely we’ll lose the Anti-Tank Mines forever since that would be a lot of wasted work on Arrowhead’s part, but there migꦑht be an unexpected consequence in some other way.
Speaking Of Menkent…
If you were confused to see that the Menkent Line established by players last week had no obvious effect, you’re not the only one. When we finished Operation Menkent Line, many players were under the impression that both Menkent and Lesath would have orbital defences t💝hat were🧸 at the very least semi-permanent and would have some kind of in-game effect on attacks on those planets.
It’s true that the planets stayed liberated for several days after, but they were attacked again within the week🌼 and it seemed the orbital defence system might as well not have existed. There wasn’t any tangible effect that players could see – no buffed defence or simꦦilar – so it felt kind of futile.
That said, perhaps this is more of a communication issue than anything. A lot of things players do in Helldivers 2 is ultimately futile and quickly undone – the sup📖pression of the Terminid threat, the total eradication of the Automatons, and more have all been temporary reprieves that were earned and then taken away, but those wer𝔍e integrated well into the story and built on later. Maybe the real problem here is that we built the orbital defences and then they weren’t mentioned again.
Everything Else
With less going on with the warfront, there’s more time to fool around. Ever since I saw from the official Helldivers 2 Twitter account, I haven’t been able to stop looking for those damn Frozen Yogurt guys. I fear that Arrowhead’s joking tweet may have had the opposite effect, because I am going to shoot exa𝔉ctly one pistol shot at any blue uniforms I see. Not enough to be super disruptive, but enough that it communicates that I see them for what they are.
Apart fr🍬o𝓰m that, try – I can never control my drop pods accurately enough to land on anything, honestly – and .
Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it's up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.
