Thanks in part to the still-fresh release of The Last of Us: Part II, a🔴s well as the Steam Summer Sale being in full swing, not many indie games are being released this week. This is a smart move to make on behalf of indie studios so that their games don’t go overlooked, getting lost in a sea of sales. That said, there are still a handful of new indie titles that would be worth your time.

Here are TheGamer’s picks for the indie gamesꩲ that you should check out this week (June 28 - July 4).

Charge Kid (June 29 - PC)

Charge Kid - from developer and publishers Ayrton, Rafael, and Vicente - is a puzzle-platformer in which every jump is actually a puzzle. Finding clever uses of the game’s mechanics is the key to success in solving each of the puzzle areas, but the execution is easier said than done. The playable character’s control and movement look to be pretty tight, while fun sound effects and music bring everything together. The game i🦩s actually available for free, but players can still support the developers by for a reasonable $1.99.

The Night Fisherman (June 29 - PC)

Developed by De Fault and Chard, The Night Fisherman is a roughly 5-10 minute game that is more of a cinematic experience than a video game. A surreal seascape is accompanied by an orchest🧔ral soundtrack to create a🌞n immersive storytelling experience with players taking on the role of director by controlling the scene’s camera shots. , easil𓆉y making worth the 5-10 minutes of your life.

Project Senko (June 29 - PC)

Project Senko is a hack and slash action-adventure with playe👍rs taking on the role of Senko who uses his supernatural and mobile abilities to put a stop to 🐲an alien invasion. Project Senko is another free-to-play title available this🅷 week, as it was developed by 4th Year students at DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe - Bilbao.

The Otterman Empire (July 2 - XB1, Switch, PC)

In what looks something like Fortnite mixed with Rocket Arena, The Otterman Empire - from developer and publisher Tri-Heart Interactive - is an 🌸intense, quick-fire party shooter in which up to four players can duke it out in a variety of different game modes. Plus, you get to play as adorable, yet deadly otters. What more could you possiblඣy need?
