The series has been dormant ever since Titanfall 2's release back in 2016. With Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment having great success with Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, fans have wondered if the mech shooter is stuck in limbo. According to one of Respawn's founders, the Titanfall franchise may have a continued absence for a༺ while.
In an interview conducted by, Respawn Entertainment celebrates its 10th anniversary as a studio. Coming out of 2019, Respawn Entertainment looks back on having released two of 2019's biggest titles: Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
When IGN inquired about the state of the Titanfall series, Vince Zampella confirmed that there is no Titanfall installment in development, with Titanfall-universe spinoff Apex Legends still at the top of its game. Yet, Zampella stated that he would like to see another Titanfall entry at some point.
Zampella was also asked if there were any announcements that Respawn fans can anticipate at the EA Play event. Zampella mentioned that the main highlight will be a new Medal of Honor game. However, there are some surprises 🔜that Zampella withheld𝓰.
While the first Titanfall game was received well, Titanfall 2 was largely received even better, improving on its predecessor in every way. Apex Legends seems to have taken center stage now, however, and may be more popular than Titanfall was. So now, it would be interesting to see if it was Titanfall or Apex Legends that got another installment. Zampella's optimism suggests that Titanfall is likely to get another in🐷stallment, though Respawn likely has other priorities at tꦯhe moment.
As for Apex Legends, the 2019-released game continues to do strongly with crowds everywhere. After all, Season 5 was just released, bringing with it a few new ౠfeatures, including new cosmetic items, new quests, and the new Legend Loba, who prefers stealth to bullets.
Hopefully, we'll see another Titanfall entry at some point. While not EA's biggest hitter, the Titanfall series was unique in allowing playﷺers to fight others in giant mechs interchangeably with fighting others onfoot. Looks like we'll be waiting for a while, however.
