With less than three months to go until 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield's launch and the sprawling space RPG getting its own Direct last weekend, we now know more about the game than ever before. Bethesda's Todd Howard continues to tell us more though, including that Starfield pulled inspiration from an unexpected game in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Red Dead Redemption 2.
spoke with Howard following the extensive Starfield Direct in an attempt to fill in even more of the gaps when it comes to what might well be Bethesda's most ambitious game yet. Throwing iconic sci-fi titles like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:No Man's Sky out there as logical comp🔥arisons to make, Howard responded by explaining why 💎Starfield shares some DNA with Red Dead 2.
“It's the games that put you in a world, that transport you to a place. So I think it also as a flow, probably has more of a feeling of a [Red Dead Redemption 2],” Howard explained. “I'm living the Western fantasy. So in this, you're living this science fiction explorer fantasy, and sometimes that's being on a barren planet and nothing is going on.”
Highlighting that will add even more layers to Starfield, especially for those who have spent an extended period of time in Rockstar's Red Dead world. Yes, while famous space RPGs will immediately spring to mind while watching and playing Starfield, it appears to be the want to make players feel like they have an entire galaxy to explore, and that every journey will be unique, that Howard and Bethesda have tried to capture.
Howard also highlighted that despite having a very different backdrop, Starfield will naturally have a Fallout and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elder Scrolls feel to it as well. “It has similarities to Elder Scrolls and Fallout and the things that we've made and how it feels in your hands or some certain mechanics,” Howard told IGN. Understandable since Starfield has been developed by the same studio and worked on by a lot of the same people, Howard included.
Howard, Xbox, and Bethesda will be hopeful Starfield can replicate some of Red Dead 2's success. While its numbers are overlooked as every time they're updated GTA 5's sales increase by five million copies, Red Dead 2 has sold 53 million copies to date making it the eighth best-selling game of all time.
The reactions to Starfield after its Direct last weekend have been largely positive. The one reveal that hasn't gone down well is that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Starfield will be capped at 30fps. Xbox boss Phil Spencer attempted to explain why that was a creative decision made by Bethesda, but that doesn't appear to be good enough for some people.
