Over the weekend, OpenLara modder XProger revealed that they were t🌌he lead developer behind Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered. Since then, they've been incredibly active in replying to fans playing the games, even confirming that you can make Lara Croft wear sunglasses. But they didn't say how. So, people got to sleuthing.
Cue Nicole Bounxe, who in just a couple of hours after XProger's comment found out how exactly you put on the shades. Fitting for a remaster of a '90s classic, the method is a secret combination of buttons.

"To aꦬctivate the glasses in Tomb Raider Remastered on PlayStation, you need to press L1+R1 during the loading screen (I believe this is the same function of these buttons on other platforms)," Bounxe tweeted, and yes, it works across all platforms. "To simplify♏, it is the buttons that correspond to [looking and walking]!"
However, there's a catch. Sunglasses only work with modern graphics (they'll disappear if you switch to classic), so if you're not keen on the new and updated version of the trilogy, you'll have to make do without Lara's specs.

They also come off during cutscenes, but there's a way to prevent it. Simply hold down L1+L2 as they begin and Lara will keep them on.
As for why this is such a big deal; "The first time we saw her, she was wearing them," @Calypsis_ said. "And she's wearing them on the cover of Tomb Raider 3." Now she matches her key art counterpart.
It's not the only discovery fans have made over the past couple of days. @danthedan20 found a monitor with some familiar numbers in the corners. You might've run past it without noticing, assuming that it's nothing more than part of the level's decor, but those numbers are the release date for the remastered trilogy and the coordinates for Giza, AKA Tomb Raider 4's setting.
What's more, the coordinates come after the word "Next", hinting at future remasters. Fans even think we're getting another trilogy. But until official confirmation, it's just a fun easter egg.
