Avatar: The Last Airbender finished its three-season run just over 12 years ago. It gained a passionate fanbase during that time along with continued support ever since due to the fact it is aꦡrguably one of the best cartoon series to ever be created.

The story didn't just end with (spoilers) Aang mastering all four elements and defeating Fire Lord Ozai by taking away his bending, though. There have been numerous comic book series featuring the characters from the show and their continued adventures once the credits rolled. Now, Dark Horse has announced a spinoff comic story featuring fan favorite Toph Beifong in Avatar: The Last Airbender - Toph Beifong's Metalbending Academy set to come out early 2021.

Toph was considered one of the best earthbenders around and tasked with the job of being Aang's earthbending teacher, but one of her arguably most impressive feats was creating the sub skill of earthbending known as metalbending towards the end of "Boo♌k 2: Earth."

In the sequel series The Legend of Korra, metalbending has become more common and is utilized by the Republic City police force. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Toph Beifong's Metalbending Academy will show some of the early days of Toph's metalbending teachings featu🍸ring some familiar faces along the way.

The comic will highlight Toph's time at her metalbending academy after the events of the show. With the gang going their own ways, Toph feels life at her academy doesn't have enough excitement in it until Sokka and Suki come to visit leading to a revelation that might just bring abouꦏt much needed adventure.

With it's recent addition to the Netflix catalog, Avatar: The Last Airbender has enjoyed a resurgence into the pop-culture light once more. It's a better time than ever to continue to capitalize off the series' legacy.  Avatar: The Last Airbender - Toph Beifong's Metalbending Academy is set to hit shelves February 21, 2021 and is available to pre-order🦄 on Amazon and Barnes and Noble along with loc🥀al comic book shops.
