Torbjörn and Mercy have received major changes that were not mentioned﷽ in the latest patch nꦉotes, or any patch notes for that matter. Reddit user Lighting_Laxus describes them .

Mercy has received a meaningful nerf, which impacts her ability to charge her ultimate. Previously, if you damage boosted a teammate Mercy would gain ultimate charge equal to 30% of that teammate's damage to enemies. If Widowmaker were to one-shot a squishy enemy hero, for example, Mercy would receive 30% of that damage toward her ultimate charge, even though her damage ✨boost wasn't necessary for Widowmaker to secure the kill.

With the new change, Mercy only gains ult charge if she amplifies damage. Under the same circumstances, Mercy wouldn'🥃t receive any ultimate charge from Widowmaker. Similarly, if a Pharah or McCree were to finish off a low꧑ health target, Mercy wouldn't receive any ultimate charge unless her damage boost was necessary for getting the kill.

Mercy's damage boost is one of her core abilities, and the nerf definitely reduces her impact. We might see Mercy picked less in higher-levels of play. Ac🐟cording to the Reddit user, this change might have been introduced as far back as Patch 1.34, but we can't know for certain since it's never been in any patch notes.

Torbjörn, meanwhile, has received a secret buff to his ultimate ability. Molten Core always did extra damage to armored heroes, but now the damage has been increased even more. Originally the ability did 130 DPS to unarmored targets and 190 DPS to armored targets. Now the ultimate does 160 DPS to unarmored targets and a whopping 250 DPS to armored targets. This is a welcome buff, considerin🍃g Torbjörn is a bit underwhelming compared to some other heroes. Armor was also weakened, from reducing 5 damage🅺 to reducing 3 and no longer mitigating damage-over-time effects, although this has been documented.

Neglecting to mention these changes could be an oversight, or perhaps a bug. Torbjörn's ult change makes sense considering armor has been nerfed in general, and Mercy's change seems intuitive, even if it is a nerf. Previously, Mercy could damage boost a Lucio just before he booped a Reinhardt or Roadhog off the map, and receive ult-charge for their whole health pool. ✱Now, she actually needs to assist the hero she is boosting in doing damage.

It remains to be seen if Blizzaꦜrd will address these changes, or if they'll issue a hotfix to sand them out.
