The 2020 Call of Duty League e⛦nded its ❀regular season with a Toronto Home Series featuring the best teams in the league and playoff seeding on the line. Despite having teams like Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and Florida squaring off over the weekend, it was the Toronto Ultra that shined the brightest on their way to their first (and only) home series event victory.
The Ultra impressed over the weekend and ending the home series with 𝔉a 4-0 record. It wasn't easy, though, as Toronto had to go through an inconsistent OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, a strong Chicago Huntsmen and two dominant teams in the Dallas Empire and Atlanta FaZe. Their finals match-up against Atlanta went down to the wire but the Ultra pulled out a win in thrilling 3-2 fashi♛on.
The Toronto Ultra hadn't had the best season to kick off the Call of Duty League. They found themselves towards the end of the pack most of the time, but winning their own home series to end the regular season has to be a huge momentum boost for them as they try to make a strong push come playoffs. One of their biggest weaknesses early was their indecisiveness when choosing a starting roster, but they have steadily looked better going forward and this victory was the perfect way for them ♛to end the regular season.
With their outstanding performance over the weekend, the Toronto Ultra moved up to seventh overall in the league standings. Because of their seeding, the Ultra have secured a spot in the winners bra🎐cket instead of being relegated to the elimination bracket making it a bit easier on them. There first match of the playoffs will be against the London Royal Ravens who are the sixth seed. The elimination round begins on August 19th while the Ultra will kick off their playoff run starting on the 20th.
