The Warriors of Chaos were one of the first pieces of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:DLC for Total War: Warhammer, since then they've finally gotten got a long overdue rework and four new Lords to play. So their roster has only gotten larger and more varied. There’s a lot to unpack, but to streamline things and make it easier to get the ball rolling on a new run, here’s a rundown of all the Warriors of Chaos units ranked from best (S-Tier) to worst (C-Tier).

S-Tier

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Chosen Of Chaos And A Hellcannon

Chosen: The top tier infantry for Chaos, the Chosen are absolute damage machines that can soak up the hits and tear apart men in a matter of moments. They’re the endgame infantry for the faction during short or long 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Immortal Empire campaigns and they have a lot oꦅf customiz♕ation options. For example, you could outfit them with Great Weapons or Halberds, and if they’re aligned with Tzeentch they’ll have a beefy barrier along with an extremely high health bar. They’re a must-have for the late-game, and despite their vulnerability to ranged attacks, it’s always worth using a contingent of them.

Hellcannon: The forces of Chaos really fall short when it comes to artillery. Their only options for the long-range game are the Hellcannons and whilst ex𝓡tremely a🐈ccurate with their tracking projectiles, they’re slow to fire and low damage. They’re also a little tricky to get as they require a specific building chain or by hiring the Soul of Damnation from the Regiments of Renown panel. But that doesn’t mean you should write them off completely as they can scale their damage, their rounds inflict terror and they never miss. So having a minimum of three of them at the back of your army can do a substantial amount of damage to the enemy lines before your main force clashes with them.

A-Tier

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Chaos Marauders, Dragon Ogres And A Bloodthirster Of Khorne

Chaos Marauders: This placement before the rework may have caused some outcry, but now Chaos Marauders are arguably the most useful and versatile unit for this faction as a whole. Plus, depending on your alignment to the Dark Gods, they can be pretty strong in the early game. For example, aligning them with Khorne gives them Frenzy, for Nurgle they get Poison attacks. Slanesh makes them immune to psychology as well as a few more buffs and Tzeentch gives them a forcefield which is perfect for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:siege battles. They can also be given axes, spears, whips and even horses as they’re upgraded, so there’s a lot of variety you can put into your army with these lads for a number of differe🌠nt fights.

Dragon Ogres: Hard-hitting shock troops that charge in swinging massive hammers, the Dragon Ogres are an absolutely brilliant replacement for cavalry. Their high leadership and Anti-Large classification mean you can dump them into a big infantry ball and leave them there for a while, or focus down large targets with a charge. Add on top of that th🍷eir high missile resistance, AOEꦚ lightning ball for their Regiment of Renown, and the stand-alone much larger Shagoth variant you can use and the Dragon Ogres are a pretty monstrous unit to have wandering around the battlefield.

Chaos Demons: Since there are so many demons of Chaos, it would be easier to pool them all under one defined spot here. They’re available after gaining favor with a particular dark patron and on the field of battle and the various demonic entities you can use vary from expendable fodder to hard-hitting ranged tr✃oops, big tanky boysꦬ, flying magic casters, and fast-moving eldritch horrors. It’s always worth having at least one ranged and monster variant of these unholy abominations in your army.

B-Tier

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Chaos Warriors, Chaos Spawn And Chaos Giant

Chaos Warriors: A solid mid-tier pick for infantry, Chaos Warriors are sturdy boys that can hold the line, take walls, and generally counter a lot of substantial threats on the battlefield. Just like Mauraders they can be customized by aligning them with a particular Chaos God and doing so gives them substantial buffs and boons. Plus, their models are all a𝔍bsolutely gorgeous so having them out on the field is always a joy to look at if you’re a fan of artisanal demonic armor designs.

Chaos Spawn: Chaos Spawn are the perfect quarterbacks to plow straight into an enemy infantry line or batter through the front doors of a fortress. They’re high damage, classed as anti-infantry♊, and aren’t affected by leadership so they’re borderline unstoppable in the right hands. They work well with support to keep their charge going, but if they get pinned down they’ll melt fast as their low health, armor, and defense make them pri𓆉me targets to arrows, bullets, and anything that can come from range.

Chaos Giants: A holdover unit from the previous games, the Chaos Gi🦹ants are tall, stomping creatures that render infantry lines pointless. They’ll happily march through anything that isn’t Halberds to the vulnerable lines at the back, or act as a huge distraction whilst a strike force flanks in from behind. Their high armor-piercing damage of over 400 and their ability to induce Fear and Terror amongst the ranks make them perfect at taking down cavalry or dealing with big monsters and tough armored foes.

Forsaken: Essentially pre-Chaos Spawn, the Forsaken are a great berserker unit to unleash on weak parts of enemy formations. They can mince through unit models when they’re flanking and they’ll hold an infantry line a lot longer than you would think. Though they&൲rsquo;re a little expensive to hire (around 800 gold), they have high health and can break into an extra damaging Frenzy mode if they take too many hits.

C-Tier

Total War: Warhammer 3 - Chaos Knights, Warhounds And Aspiring Champions

Chaos Knights: Until the charging gets fixed the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Chaos Knights are unfortunately still on the C-Tier list for now. Whilst they l🏅ook impressive and there are plenty of versions ranging from those with lances, to the Doom Knights astride the floating discs, unless they’re continually charge rotated they die quickly. The only exception to this rule is the Bloodcrushers of Khorne as these mechanical-looking monstrosities excel at melee and inducing Fear in enemy infantry.

Marauder Horsemen: Mostly useful for skirmishing with infantry from range or charging into vulnerable artillery, the Marauder Horsemen are a unit you don’t want to invest too much time into. They’re easy to route and don&rsqu𒁃o;t have a lot of health, but their only major selling point is that they can be aligned to a Chaos God much like their infantry brethren. Doing so also gives them unique benefits, such as fire axes for going with Khorne and magic missiles for Tzeentch as examples.

Aspiring Champions: Though they may look cool, Aspiring Champions are very situational. They’re great at providing support or acting as a🍌 specialized strike team, but they can’t hold their own in the line for long. Their Vanguard deployment and Encourage attributes are extremely handy at dropping them close o𓆏r helping keep the leadership of nearby troops up, but if they get isolated they’ll melt fast. Plus their low Armor-Piercing damage makes them useless against a lot of heavily armed late-game foes.

Warhounds: Most factions in Total War: Warhammer 3 have access to these good boys, but unfortunately they’re not that great. Whilst they excওel at taking out archers, retreating Lords, and undefended artillery, Warhounds have very low armor and health. So they really can’t hold their own and unless you’re constantly micro-managing them with hit-and-run attacks on weak targets, they’re usually going to be the first unit to die in a battle.
