However, a closer look can give you small-but-heartbreaking insights into the state of the land and people after The Shattering. A bit of poking around can make an already sad game even sadder.
10 Enemies In♏ Mourning 🐻
While it's often tempting to see the soldiers and knights that attempt to waylay you as nothing more than mindless creatures with no human motivations left, some sights out in the world give rather uncomfortable reminders of their sentience. In various areas they can be seen mourning at grave sites, often being quite difficult to provoke in these places.
It might be even worse when other enemies appear to be grieving, but further inspection shows them eating their own dead comrades. At least you don't have to feel too guilty about dispatching those with a greatsword.
9 🧸 The Misbegotten Uprising
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:On the Weeping Peninsula, you are told a little about something terrible happening at Castle Morne. The servants have killed everyone, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Irina tells you. Upon arriving 🅠at the castle, you are greeted with a site far more shocking than her description might have suggested. That is because Irina is blind, and perhaps never saw what the servants were.
In the ♚courtyard of Castle Morne you see a group of the hideous Misbegotten atop the bodies of the slain humans of the castle. They are cheering. The Misbegotten, loathed because of their appearance, were treated as slaves by the inhabitants of the Lands Between — something that would perhaps cause them to eventually snap and rail ag✃ainst their tormentors.
8 💎 Jellyfish At Their♒ Graves
Some scenes have a different feel when you look back on them with new knowledge. Early on in your playthrough, you may be gifted with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a Spirit Jellyfish Ash, named Aurelia. There is a grave in the mountains, with Aurelia's name written upon it. It feeds into the idea that the jellyfish seen bobbing around were perhaps people at one point.
So, when these non-hostile jellyfish can be found bobbing quietly around graves, you must wonder whether they are visiting their own mortal resting places. It might also make you feel a little bad about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:using one as a shield, but the buff is really good.

The Horrors Of Dominula 
Dominula, Windmill Village, and its pastures sit in the north of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Altus Plateau. Seemingly pleasing from afar, approaching it will quickly dispel any hope of a pleasant experience. The women of Dominula, in dresses and flower♒ crowns, dance and laugh en🉐dlessly. The men on the other hand? Their fates are pretty grim.
A group cowers in one of the pastures, while a Misbegotten prowls around some of their dead brethren with a huge axe. They perhaps got away lightly, as another Windmill Pasture sees more of the dancing celebrants around a bonfire... at least, what appears to be a bonfire until the figures stand up, their skin alight with fire. Something sent the villagers mad. This is possibly something to do with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:shady figurಞe at the top o⛎f the village.
6 Thops' Swansong
Sorcerer Thops can be🍌 found in the Church of Irith on the edge 𒁃of Liurnia Of The Lakes, mourning his lot in life. A seemingly unsuccessful sorcerer, he became locked out of the academy of Raya Lucaria, and fears he will never be able to complete his studies.
Gifting him a key fills the insecure man with hope and gratitude, and he invites the Tarnished to pay him a visit one day. Sadly, upon looking for him inside the Academy, he is found dead, slumped at his desk — along with a new spell with his name upon it. Was he killed by one of his fellow students? He seems very peaceful in 𒁃his fate. Perhaps he did find his true calling, and workedܫ himself to his last to finish his magical magnum opus.
5 🍰 The Puppets 𒊎
Seluvis is not a very pleasant man. A sorcerer in the service of Ranni the Witch, he's openly insulting and demeaning towards the Tarnished, and has his own selfish motivations. It gets worse, though.
His hidden cellar beneath Ranni's Rise lets the player find numerous individuals, seemingly alive, but frozen in an unsettling pose. A message from Seluvis warns against anyone touching his 'puppets'. Even Therolina, a fingermaiden who can help with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Radahn fight, is slumped over in🍒 his hideaway. Why🅺 does he have them, and what are they for? Thinking too hard about it only makes it more disturbing.
4 What Sealed Rogier's Fate
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rogier the Spellsword is a helpful fellow you meet on the way up through Stormveil Castle. The man is in the dilapidated seat of Godrick with his own goal in mind, and when he's met afterwards in Roundtable Hold, he's in a far worse condition.
What happened to Rogier? A bloodstain beneath 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Stormveil Castle, next to a hideous root head and an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, shows your friend being wrenched up off his feet violently — exactly what happens to the Tarnished when they're killed by the Deathblight effect. Closer examination of his sickened model in Roundtable Hold will reveal thorns around his legs, again, just like those that die of the blight. Perhaps he delved too deeply into a terrible secret.
3 𝐆 The Face Of The Death Prince
There is a plague in the Lands B♏etween. It spreads quietly, barely noticed amid the chaos of the battle✃ for the Elden Ring. Rogier met a terrible fate delving under Stormveil, and the hideous face below the castle was, by his indication, relating to Godwyn The Golden.
The first demigod to die, Godwyn's body began to take on a hideous appearance after his death. Even worse, it began to spread. You can see unsettling replications of this face appearing in other places — including on animals such as crabs that nest in the water 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:above his burial spot, beneath Leyndell's moat. The terrible fate of the golden prince is slowly becoming everyone's problem.
2 The Fate ꧋Of The Albinaurics 🧸
The Albinaurics are a people defined by their white blood, the progressive degeneration of their legs, and their tendency to be treated horrendously by nearly everyone. While a few have found safer places to hide away, most are either dead or mad from mistreatment. Most unfortunately, you can find some locked away in Volc♋ano Manor, in horrifying conditions.
Then again, if you've been farming their froggy descendants for runes, you're in not in any position to talk.
1 ꧙ A Fallen Titan ꦬ
In the appropriately named Dragonbarrow, you can find the colossal shape of Greyoll, the mother dragon. While dragons at their regular size are fairly intiꦯmidating, Greyoll makes most that you encounter look like babies.
Unfortunately for her, Dragonbarrow forms 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:part of Caelid, and Caelid is infested with the Scarlet Rot. Even mighty creatures like the dragon mat♏riarch are not immune to the plague, and by the time you meet Greyoll, she is terribly sick. Unable to move, she lives out a m🦄iserable existence, slowly being eaten away. Perhaps all those players chasing the 50k runes she drops are inadvertently doing her a favour.
