Ah, Quartz If there is one gameplay mechanic in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Trails from Zero that causes some players to scratch their heads in frustration and surrender to "just putting whatever, wherever, and hoping for the best" it's got to be Quartz. Setting Quartz into Orbment slots is easy in theory, and in fact fairly easy ꦗin practice; but some of us have a mental hurdle to overcome before it clicks in our brains.
That's fine. You're in good company. And you might just be perplexed enough to read our guide. We're here for you, fair readers, and we promise to do a better job explaining Orbal Arts than dear Wendy at Genten did.
The Basics Of Basics
There are two fine ways to define Quartz to Trails from Zero newcomers. The first relies entirely upon whether you have played a very specific game before. The second is more in-depth, and hinges upon the notion that you have not. Let's get that first one out of the way: if you have ever played either Final Fantasy 7 or any of its spin-offs, Trails' Quartz is basically just... Materia, but more complicated.
Now, for the real explanation. Quartz comes in a wide variety of forms, each of which have individual names to denote their usage. You equip Quartz via the main menu. Every type of Quartz comes in one of seven colors. These colors are Blue, Red, Green, Orange, Black, Gold, and Grey. Each color corresponds with an element. In respective order, these elements are Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Time, Space, and Mirage.
Quartz is equipped to the Orbal slots a character possesses. Each of your four party members starts with only a couple of slots; upgrading them costs Sepith, which is also what is necessary for the construction of more Quartz at the Orbment Shop, Genten. Sepith comes in seven different kinds, and as one might suspect, these are the seven elements. Water Sepith, for example, will aid strongly in the creation of🧔 Water Quartz.
The more of a given color/element of Quartz a character has equipped, the greater the diversity of spells they can use. Spells are referred to within Trails games as Orbal Arts, or simply 'Arts'. But there are multiple factors that obfuscate this, so let's get more detailed.
Sepith Combinations For Spell-Slinging Success
Take a glance at the above screenshot. Before we go any further, an all-important aside: you can access this screen, as well as every other Orbal Arts and Quartz List screen, from your Detective Handbook at any time. It's your compendium, your direct line to what's needed for each Orbal Art.
So, some of these are straightforward. A character will be capable of using Stone Spike so long as they have an equipped Quartz combination that prevents at least one Earth Sepith. Now, wait! Wasn't Sepith used for the crafting of Quartz? Indeed, it is. But in addition to the higher numbers of Sepith necessary to craft a given piece of Quartz at Genten, there is a second factor, which is the number of 'equipped' Sepith provided from each Quartz.
Let's put this another way before we continue. It's best to think of the Sepith in your inventory and the Sepith requirements for Orbal Arts as entirely separate entities. Having, say, 200 Earth Quartz is not going to grant you Stone Spike. Instead, it's going to help you to craft an Earth-type Quartz, which will in turn provide one or more Earth Sepith that powers your Arts.
So, Stone Spike. Easy-peasy, just one Earth Sepith as provided by an Earth Quartz. But what about Yggdrasil? You need enough Quartz in your Quartz setup to offer at least ten Earth Sepith value, which is already steep. And yet, you also need... three Water Sepith and three Wind Sepith as well? Now, that's going to take some tinkering. If you've surmised that Yggdrasil must surely be a more desirable Art than Stone Spike, you're absolutely correct.
Here's another example, this time involving Water-based Orbal Arts. Icicle Edge is an entry-level Art, and one which any character with at least one Water-type Sepith provided by their equipped Quartz combination will be able to use. Genesis Flood, with 12 Water Sepith necessary, is more of an endgame spell; Diamond Dust,൲ with eight Water Sepith and one each of Wind and Earth, is around that level of difficulty.
Quartz Setups And The Wonderful World Of Slots
Also available in your Detective Handbook is a list of craftable Quartz. You'll mainly be at Genten on Central Square in Crossbell City when crafting Quartz. Hopefully, things are starting to crystallize — which is arguably a pun on Quartz, so please understand it wasn't intentional.
A Quartz's Sepith Value is how much equippable Sepith that Quartz will provide. Defense 1 offers a mere one Earth Sepith. Didn't we speak about an Orbal Art earlier that only needs one Earth Sepith, though? Indeed, we did! With Defense 1 equipped, Stone Spike will appear in the character's list of Orbal Arts, and can thus be cast in battle.
Usefully enough, some Quartz of a specific elemental type will actually provide you with equipped Sepith of multiple elements. The value will always favor the Quartz's element, but this can still come in handy when attempting to match steep requirements for an Orbal Art. Take Ingenuity, which grants three Earth Sepith, two Water Se🐓pith, and one Time Sepith. This 🐬is a winning combination, to be sure.
One might wonder how the developers at Falcom managed to ensure that players cannot access spells like Yggdrasil and Genesis Flood right from the start. Enter slot upgrades and Orbal lines.
When you begin your Trails from Zero adventure, only a couple of slots are even open for everyone, which means you need to speak with Wendy at Genten and fork over large sums of (inventory-based) Sepith in order to open up more. We recommend prioritizing the slot-opening process above all else, as it will expand your Orbal Arts 💙list considerably.
Here's another Quartz List page. We're back to our old friend, Water. Notice the Icon column displays not only the color of Quartz, which isn't particularly helpful as we know it will be blue since it's Water... but also an illustration of either one or two indicators. What's that all about?
Upon your arrival at Chapter Two of the main story, Genten will begin to offer an additional service, a service that works even better at stopping players from scoring the best Orbal Arts earlier than intended. You will be able to upgrade each of your characters' slots at this point, for an increasingly huge amount of inventory Sepith. Better-quality Quartz needs two, rather than one, as per the above pictures; Shield 3 cannot be equipped within a slot that hasn't been upgraded.
Well, that's the long and not-especially-short of it. If you need further help, our advice is to experiment. Fiddling around with hands-on experience is often an excellent way to get more of a feel for Trails' Quartz system. Flip between equipping Quartz and studying your Orbal Arts list. Consult your Detective Handbook as needed. Forge the finest Quartz and show the citizens of Crossbell what you're made of!
