Eight people are confirmed to have died at a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Travis Scott concern last night following a crowd surge. Hundreds more are said to be injured, with 17 taken to nearby hospitals. Of the injꦇured, 11 were in cardiac arrest.
It is not yet known what caused the surge at Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas. Travis Scott had repeatedly halted his performance as he spotted fans in distress, instructing security to lift them to safety. But for whatever reason, the front of the crowd was re🐭peatedly pushed forward, resulting in the🍬 fatal injuries.
Fire chief Samuel Pena has labelled the concert a "mass caꦿusaliꦜty incident", shedding some light on how events transpired.
"The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries". He said, also explaining that the surge sta🐈rted to cause fans to lose consciousness, which further escalated the panic in the crowd.
In videos of the performance shared online, Travis Scott🐼 can be heard trying to assist fans in need of aid. "Security, somebody help real quick," he said, also instructing t▨hose around the injured to give them some room.
"I think it's very important that none of us speculate. Nobody has all the answers tonight", commented Houston police chief, Troy Finner. "We're going to do an investigation and find out because it's not fair to the producers, to anybody else involved, until we determine what happened, what caused the surge".
Astroworld Festival was i꧅ntend൲ed to be a two-day event, with 50,000 people reportedly in attendance on the first day alone. It has run annually since 2018, having only missed 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
