Train In Mock Battles
The battle system in Triangle Strategy might be fairly straightforward for anyone that has played any recen💛t tactical strategy game. However, it can still be considered daunting by those unfamiliar with the genre. After all, knowing what all those colored squares and floating numbers mean can only come after taking the tim💛e to familiarize yourself with those elements.
The good news is you are given the opportunity to do so outside of the heat of an actual battle fairly early on in the game. Once you get to Chapter Three, you'll unlock the option to take part in mental mock battles in the Tavern at your team's Encampment.
You can also replay story battles through this function, allowing you to take another lꩲook at difficult fights to see where your🅰 strategy could have been improved.
There you can practice with your various party members as you work to refine your strategies through different battle scenarios. This is also a good place to farm for XP since you still gain experience as you would in normal battles.
Play To The Strengths Of Your Party Members
In Triangle Strategy, players get to field a team of up to 12 characters from a pool of more than 20 potential party members. This opens up all manner of possibilities since each character has unique skil🎉ls and stats that they bring to the table.
For example, you'll definitely want to have a magic user like Narve on your team since he can use multiple elements to exploit various environmental effects that could prove helpful during a battle. You'll also need support characters like Benedict, who can provide your 🌼more powerful team members with useful buffs for even more devastating effects and comb🐟os.
The important thing to note here is that each characterℱ has specific strengths. Sometim♌es, knowing what character to use in a given situation can help make even the tougher enemy encounters manageable.
Know Your Enemy
In♌ a similar vein, all the enemies you encounter in Triangle Strategy also have unique skills and st🧜ats. This is true of even those that share the same character models or slight variations of the same.
So it is a good idea to take some time at the start of any enemy encounter to check out details about who you are go꧃ing up against. Thankfully, it is fairly straightforward to glean what they might have up their sleeves just by glancing at their stat blocks.
You can also hover over them and press a button to reveal additional details like their abilities, as well as their weaknesses and resistances, which should help you decide🍸 which attacks to use against them.
Use The Environment To Your Advantage
Battles in Triangle Strategy take place across a variety of environments, ranging from castles to city streets. And whileꦚ these are oftentimes densely populated by both enemies and party members, its grid-based battle system ensures that you are able to keep track of the area of effect of your various attacks.
Several of those environments offer unique advantages, though. For example, a rainstorm would lead to puddles being formed throughout a battle, so using a lightning attack will cause it to spread to all enemies standing in those puddles for additional damage.
Likewise, certain spells can set tiles ablaze. Following up with a wind-based attack can further propagate those flames to damage enemies that were previously outside their area of effect. Mixing and matching the various elemental attacks like that will quickly help you gain the upper hand in enemy encount൩ers.
Be Mindful Of Your Position
Like any good strategy game, Triangle Strat🐎egy places a heavy emphasis on where you choose to move your team members on the battlefield. This is because they can either become susceptible to additional damage or even gain a strategic advantage, depending on factors such as the elevation of the terrain and proximity to other party members.
Attacks made while standing on a grid above or directly behind an enemy would deal extra damage. Another way of dealing even more damage is by having your team members surround the enemy. That way, executing a frontal attack would also trigger a follow-up attack from any party member you have standing at their rear. This goes the other way around, of course, so you must also avoid getting flanked and surrounded by the enemy to 🦹minimize the amount of damage ಞyou receive.
