Main Story: Central Hyzante

Upon their arrival in Hyzante, Serenoa's entourage is reminded rather brusquely of the Hyzantian distaste toward Frederica and all other Roselle. Moments later, the group meets with the hierophant, who speaks through Minister Idore and poses a question.

With Serenoa's interest piqued, Minister Lyla allows the House Wolffort d🉐elegation to visit part of the Ministry of Medicine. A "reticent researcher" whispers a few weird words and leaves.

Exploration Event: Central Hyzante

After escorting Frederica to a shaded spot outside the Ministry of Medicine, Serenoa takes some timಌe to get to know the city. Things are a bit more involved this time than they were when Serenoa searched for Lord Dragan and prepared for the tourney, respectively.

This is your first time in an exploration event with a merchant. Interacting with merchants is limited to the event, and they will sometimes tout exclusive wares. Always be sure to take a look at their stock. If you're curious but low on coin, feel free to partake ♛in a Mental Mock Battle or two back at the Encampment.

Elsewhere throughout Hyzante, there are a pair of Conviction-boosting conversations as well as plenty of hidden (and not-so-hidden) items.

Of these items, it may be worth grabbing an Icestone or two for the upcoming battle. Upgrade mater𒅌ials ar🌠e always worth getting too since they can be frustrating to farm.

Combat Event: Central Hyzante

It seems there's a bit of an "Unbeliever" problem going on at the Ministry of Medicine. A researcher named Plinius is on the run with stolen secrets, and Seren🅘oa teams up with Exharme to put an end to it.

This is the first mandatory battle wherein you will have Recommended units. These units are considered particularly useful by the game for the current battle. Including all of them in your battle party will not only give you an edge but will net you some Utility points. Conversely, if you use none of them, you'll get some Liberty points.

Battle Overview

The only unit you need to bring down is Plinius. As you may suspect, of course, getting to Plinius is no simple feat. Joining you for this battle are Exharme — who will make the best beeline possible toward Plinius, so you may wish to keep him buffed and healed — and ice mage Corentin, who will be yours to control.

Central Hyzante Battle Strategy

At present, Serenoa has seven battling companions. However, you can only choose up to six of them to join you for this fight. (Newcomer Corentin essentially takes up the eighth slot after the fighting starts.) Frederica's magic is too useful to go without, while Benedict's Bulwark can save you from the foes' own spells.

Roland's ranꦆge and Hughette's traversable heights are equally handy. Geela's healing is, unsurprisingly, invaluable. Erador's damage-soaking tanking doesn't work as well against mages, so consider leaving him behind. Alternatively, Anna can probably stick to the bench.

Keep Benedict on the side opposite to Serenoa's, alongside Roland (who should lead the vanguard here) and Geela. An alternative strategy involves using Benedict beside Serenoa and keeping Raging Beast on Exharme to aid Exharme's quest to go straight for Plinius' jugular — bear in mind, however, that while the fight will 🏅be over faster, you may miss out on a huge amount of experience points for ignoring the chance to fell other foes. Hughette can hang on either side, as we'll be flying her up on ro🃏oftops posthaste.

Corentin's Frosty Fetters has the wonderful quirk of being strong against the entire enemy force. What's more, it will sometimes inflict Silence for two turns, which is a real boon when the opposition relies so heavily on spellcasting. Put plainly, Corentin is key to this battle.

Roland's Double Thrust gets a lot of mileage here in Hyzante. It's not that the battlefield is particularly small, which is🌺 always handy for a two-tile attack like Double Thrust. In fact, the field's a decent size, but the enemy units tend to clump together in ways that the prince can use to his range advantage.

Use those Icestones you purchased earlier, provided of course that you went ahead and did so. No one i🅺s going to hit quite like Corentin's Frosty Fetters, but it's a lovely bonus nonetheless, effectively providing a couple of opportunities to unleash a "mini-Corentin" strike of sorts.

With the sand settled and Plinius overwhelmed, the party bids their Saintly allies farewell. Corentin elects to tag along, having had his fill of Hyzante's 𝓡tendency toward clᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚosely guarded secrets. Time to head back to Glenbrook.
