Trophy hunting has become a gaming trope that many players become hopelessly addicted to, and one writer is spoken out about th🐓eir experiences.

writer Sebastian Hawden recently detailed his journey into trophy hunting addiction and back out the other side. He had always enjoyed exploring everything a game he loved had to offer as far back as he can remember. At the beginning, the trophy and achievements system introducꦚed to video games added to that enjoyment.

Eventually, that enjoyment became a necessity, maybe even an addiction. Hawden probably isn't the only one who has exp𝓡erienced this. For some, playing games can become all about getting trophies rather than enjoyinꦇg the game. Some players buy cheap, easy-to-beat games just to bolster their trophy collection and attain that elusive platinum. How much they enjoy the game doesn't matter, as long as the trophies are easy to come by.

Hawden has since come out the other side. Instead of gaming just to maintain his trophy hunting status, he now enjoys each title he plays through. The release of the Nintendo Switch, which doesn't have a trophy or achievement system, has ﷺhelped with that.

Though there are some trophy hunters out there who enjoy the experience, there are likely just as many who do it just for the prestige. If you think you sound a little like Ha🔯wden, it 🍸might be time to rethink how you approach the games you play and return to the ones you love.
