Baker insists that no matter who gets the role, he will be satisfied, as the chosen actor will inevitably give him a new perspective on the character. As many fans of the game have already given their opinions on Josh Brolin’s capabilities, Baker was quick to say he didn’t disagree with them. After reminiscing on a time when he and Brolin had drinks, he finished the conversation with the actor by explaining how much of an influence the actor’s career had had on him. He concluded by encouraging Brolin to pick up the role if it ever came his w♍ay, saying that he would be “enriched” to portray Joel.
Josh Brolin has had a fulfilled career as an actor for over three decades and has played many roles both treasured and iconic. Kicking his career off with The Goonies, Brolin has worked his way through many genres including westerns and most recently some motion-capture roles. His most noticeable character portrayal within the pop culture realm is his recent gig playing Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame🦂. He has proved his relentless capabilities to emote various personalities and he’s a great fit for Joel both physically and characteristically.
