This move has sparked controversy in the League of Legends world as Doublelift's girlfriend, Leena Xu, currently stands as President of TSM. Som𒉰e questions the legitimacy of his si𒉰gning with TSM, considering his dwindling performance in recent months.
As reported by , Doublelift addressed this controversy in a video by stating that 𝐆his desire to rejoin TSM was because of old teammates like Bjergsen and Biofrost, citing they have been his “best friends for t🅠he last four years.” He claims that his rejoining had little to do with his girlfriend being the President of the organization.
While it certainly seems a bit fishy, it’s also apparent that trading Doublelift was a benefit for everyone involved. Doublelift was 🙈clearly demotivated to play under Team Liquid and now seems excited to play for TSM. Team Liquid was able to trade a demotivated player not getting along with management and teammates for someone who might be a better fit. It also seems TSM is excited to have a𝔍n old friend on the roster for the upcoming Summer Split.
So while fans might be upset at the conflict of interest or the drama that could spring up with Doublelift now working under his girlfriend, it does seem everyone is better off with this trade. Only time will tell if it was a good idea, but it seems the League Of Legends veteran is now motivated t♒o get back in the game.
