Twisted Metal's development has reportedly undergone a major shakeup. Sources claim that the game will now be developed by Sony's recent acquisition Firesprite Studio, having been taken from the original developer Lucid Games.

Matt Southern, who worked at Lucid Games as a director for two and a half years, moved over to Firesprite this month. With the studios being an incredibly short distance from one another (15 minutes, as VGC highlights), it's likely that we'll see more reshuffles before we see anything concrete from the project.

The Twisted Metal reboot - which has long been reported on but hasn't been officially announced - has had Lucid attached to i⭕t since rumours started flying around in September 2021. This raises questions about Sony's faith in the studio, and whether or not we should expect any other big collaborations in the future.

Today's news follows on from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:another report two days ago, which first revealed the possibility of the reboot project being moved from one studio to another. As we said then, there's no reason being suggested for the move from the inside sources, but it's likely tied to the poor reception and performance of Lucid's most recent release. Destruction AllStars received mixed reviews when it launched early last year, and the playerbase has been dwindling ever since. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:In our own review, Sam Watanuki only awa💙rded the game two out of five stars, complaining that the characters wer♔e uninspired, and the camera was awkward to control.

It's not known when Sony will finally drop the official Twisted Metal announcement, but if this latest leak is accurate, we may have to wait a little longer. Moving the project over to an entirely new team doesn't really give off the impression that it's E3 ready. Although considering how much of an open-secret it is at this point, we might get a non-gameplay trailer thrown our way.
