Tওwitch has banned Donald Trump in order to prevent him from using the platform to incite “further violence.”

Twitch has taken the extraordinary step of banning Trump's account. In an emailed statement to , the online streaming platform wrote that the step was taken in order to prevent yesterday's violence from escalating any further.

“In light of yesterday’s shocking attack on the Capitol, we have disabled President Trump’s Twitch channel,” the spokesperson wrote. “Given the current extraordinary circum♌stances and the President’s incendiary rhetoric, we believe this is a necessary step to protect our community and prev🔜ent Twitch from being used to incite further violence.”

Yesterday afternoon, a rowdy crowd of Trump supporters--some of them armed--stormed the Capital Building just as Congress had assembled to count the electoral college votes and certify Joe Biden's victory as the next President of the United States. &ldquo🦩;We are focused on minimizing harm leading up to the transition of government and will reassess his account after he leaves office,” the Twitch spokesperson aꦉdded.
