Twitch streamer Darker4Serenity got the surprise of a lifetime during the opening ceremony tonight when Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham invited him up on stag♛e to announce to the world he had been made an official Twitch Partner.

Th🥃is was the first time Twitch has made someone partner live during TwitchCon, and Darker4Serenity's reaction indic🅷ated he has no idea it was coming. The streamer was practically speechless, and accepted his Partner badge gracefully with tears welling up in his eyes and smile that stretched from ear to ear.

Making Partner is a significant achievement on Twitch. It takes no only a huge investment of time, but affiliate streamers must also demonstrate that they can pull in a consistent audience. Partners have access to a lot of special features on Twitch, l✃ike custom emotes, priority support, and extended VOD storage. Most importantly, becoming a Partner is an indicator that you've made it on Twitch, and for many, the transition from hobbyist to professional streame♈r.

During the opening ceremony, djWHEAT showed a highlight real of streamers who had all recently been upgraded to Partner. Each clip captured the moment the streamers saw the "congratulations" 💛email from Twitch, and the full bl༒own freak-out that followed.

When the clip ended djWHEAT announced that Twitch was about to do something that had never been done before. He explained that they w꧟ould be making someone partner right there on stage, and as he began to describe the streamer, Dark4Serenity reꦉalized almost instantly that djWHEAT was talking about him.

Darker4Serenity has been streaming since April 2018 and earned affiliate status later that year. He began, as many do, by streaming Fornite, but has more recently discovered his passion for doing ASMR🌞 streams.

Darker4Serenity fell on the floor in a heap of emotions when he was finally called🦂 to the stage to accept his badge and jersey. It was an incredible scene and without a doubt the proudest moment in the young streamer's career. Being there with the crowd booming and music building, it was difficult not to get emotional myself.

Twitch does a lot of things right, and this new tradition of partnering someone at Twi♊tchCon is such a kind and generous thing that one can almost overlook their shortcomings. We are happy for Darker4Serenity and hope that he continues to entertain people with his ASMR streams... even if I personally find ASMR streams weird and creepy and I don't understand them at all.
