Finding ugly Dark-type Pokémon is not a difficult task. Pokémon with this type are usually meant to be evil, demonic, mean-spirit𝐆ed, or otherwise deviant, meaning many characteristics of Dark-types follow suit. As a result, many o🔯f them are nasty-looking or in some way evil. They are not known for being cute, pretty, or beautiful.
However, that doesn't mean they're all ugly. Some of them, like Umbreon, Zorua, and Inkay are actually kind of adorable in their own ways. ﷺBut, there are still the ugly ones, and here are the worst among them.
10 Shiftry
From Loudred to Golbat to Weepinbell, there are a ton of Pokémon whose mouths take up their entire torso. Why is this such a consistent design in the Pokémon world? One of these that tends to fly under the radar is the Grass๊/Dark-type Shiftry, with its huge, terr🥃ifying mouth and awful face.
It isn't just Shiftry's giant mouth, though. The pointed-nose, leaf-hands, built-in geta sandals, and perpetual anger all aren't doing it any favors, either. Shiftry is based on the tengu, a Japanese demon that plays cruel tricks on people. So, it's fittꦓing that it has꧙ these features. But they don't make it pretty.
9 🅰 ꦬ Alolan Raticate
Raticate has never been a pretty Pokémon to begin with. Its orange Kantonian counterpart is also ugly, based on a rat with terrible buck-teeth and a constant mean look on its face. Sure, rodents aren't meant to be pretty, so 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:rodent Pokémon should꧋n't be either, but that doesn't mean they're not still ugly.
Alolan Raticate takes all of Kantonian Raticate's ugly f⛄eatures and expands on them. The mean look is heightened by red eyes, the mousy teeth are accentuated by large puffy cheeks, and its entire body is expanded like a balloon.
8 Morgrem
One of the newer Pokémon on this li🌊st, being introduced in , Morgrem is a Fairy/Dark-type Pokémon found in Glimwood Tangle in Galar. This Pokémon, and its evolutionary family, are based on imps and goblins.
Out of the three of them, the middle evolution, Morgrem, is definitely the ugliest. Impidimp has some cute features, Grimmsnarl looks intense and powerful, but Morgrem is awkwardly stuck between them, like many middle evolution🌄s. The colors are a strange choice, the edgy-teen haircut is laughable, and the hands and feet are disprop🐟ortionate to the rest of its body.
7 Sableye
Like Morgrem and its evolutionary relatives, Sableye is also inspired by goblins and gremlins. Also like Morgrem, it's ugly and devilish-looking. Sableye is characterized heavily by its larg♉e gem eyes and the ruby embedded in its chest. When it Mega-𒁏evolves, this gem takes a central role in its design.
What makes Sableye so ugly is its unsettling eyes and sharp angular features. The spikes on its elbows and ears are scary and the shape of its head is uncomfortable. It looks like something tiny that would jump o💙n you and bite you if you encountered it in the woods.
6 Thievul
Probably the most controversial entry on this list, Thievul is also a new Pokémon introduced in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sword and Shield. It evolves from Nickit, a cute fox-like Pokémon with a simila🀅r design. As soon as the base stage was leaked, it was widely-beloved by fans. Many said they were looking forward to placing it on their teams.
Its evolution, however, did not receive the same type of warm welcome. Thievul is strange-looking, with its Inspector Clouseau-൲like mustache and large heavy tail. The design is charming and cute on the small Nickit, but Thievul just doesn't feel the same.
5 Alolan Muk 🐈
Muk and Grimer were already ugly Pokémon in their Kantonian days. Being based on toxic sludge and poison, 𒀰there are very few ways in which they could be pretty or cute. However, they were given an extra ugly boost in their Alolan forms.
The solid purple has become a terrible mix of neon yellow, pink, b♒lue, and green. This combination of colors is absolutely terrible. Additionally, the small crystals all around its mouth and hands are pieces of⛦ crystallized poison. This is one ugly Pokémon, and it's supposed to be.
4 Hoopa Unbꦆound
Hoopa is ugly in both its forms, but only its Unbound form is Dark-type. This 🦹thing really takes the cake in the Legendary Pokémon category, with many of its peers being cute or otherwise nice-looking, like Mew, Shaymin, and more.
Hoopa Unbound is intense and powerful-looking, an💜d it deserves that credit. But, it's also terribly ugly. Its face and sharp teeth are terrifying, its large, round body is weird, and the sharp claws on the severed hands are very unattractive. Of course, all of these 🧔design motifs are important in its concept, but they sure are ugly.
3 Vullaby
Like many others on this list,🌱 Vullaby is not meant to be an appealing Pokémon. And it isn't. This half-hatched bird is a terribly ugly little thing. It's incredib🌃ly angry and mean-looking for something that's meant to be a baby, and its vulture-motif is very clear.
Somehow, Game Freak thought that the half-in-the-egg design that Togepi originated should be used again on an ugly pink a🍰nd black bird. Thus, Vullaby was born. Sadly, it hardly improves when it evolves into the almost equally-ugly Mandibuzz. Maybe it should have stayed in the egg.
2 Scraggy
Why oh why did the developers of Pokémon decide we needed a 'mon 🐻whose pants are always falling down? Scraggy is sad-looking, with its perpet♓ual frown and sad eyes. Its baggy pants are constantly in its hands, making it look like it wouldn't be able to accomplish much else without losing them.
Throw in the always-terrible manila-beige with a weird shade of orange-yellow and weird proportions (like its super-round head) and this is one ugly little lizard. It also doesn't improve much with evolution, as Scrafty has much the same design but with a few slight differences (the pants are still fa🃏lling down, though).
1 Guzzlord
Is there an Ultra Beast that isn't super-ugly? These quasi-alien extradimensional beings are from a world apart from the Pokémon universe, and the dimension they are from apparently can't produce anything halfway-appealing to look at. Each of the Ultra Beasts𝕴 are terrifying, ugly, or an awful sight to see.
Guzzlord, a Dragon/Dark-type, is no exception to this. This thing is truly, truly ugly, resembling a mean dumpster with claws coming out of its throat. It's even called the Junkivore Pokémon, which reveals its nature as a garbage-eating machine. The mace-like tail and tiny wings are bad, the color scheme is gross, and its overall vibe is just awful. This is truly one of the u✨gliest Pokémon that has ever existed.
