168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dark Souls DLC has always been inventive and un🐈ique, whether it's in the first, second, or supposedly final third game. These expansions really feel like the team at FromSoftware got to play around with the weird c🐎oncepts that couldn't make it into the base game.
And, these weird concepts apply to th☂e bosses as well, allowing them to cre🔴ate truly unique encounters that would influence future games to come. Here are our picks for the most unique DLC bosses spread throughout all three games.
10 🦄 Dark🎀 Souls 2: Fume Knight
Dark Souls 2 is going to be on the list the most, despite being the most polarizing of the three games. Why? Well, quite frankly, it's because Dark Souls 2 has three different DLC's while DS3 only had two, and DS1 had a single expansion. And, in the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC, players got to experience the Fume Knight fight. Raime the Fume Knight has an incredibly interesting story and an even more interesting conf❀rontation. This battle is one of FromSoft's best blends of challenge and atmosphere and even introduces NieR-esque concept🙈s like bullet-hell mechanics.
9 Dark Souls 1: 🅠Manus, Father Of The Abyss 🌜
Ah, the Father of the Abyss, first of mankind, and the icon behind so many of the original Dark Souls theory videos. Plus, he's one of the hardest fights in all of Souls. Manus is not only one of the most unique designs in Dark Souls' history, but he's also one of the most unique battles. The concept of using the Pendant to give the player a temporary shield from the Abyssal magic was just so unique, and really blended the item and combat systems together. And, fans of the franchise wouldn't see anything like it used again until Bloodborne where players could use the Music-box tﷺo stun Father Gascoigne's bestial form
8 Dark Souls 2: T😼he Burnt Ivory King
Moving back on over to the Dark Souls 2 with the penultimate battle in the Crown of the Ivory King DLC against the Ivory King himself. This battle is not only one of the most atmospheric across all three games, but also pretty unique in its narrative, gameplay mechanics, and introduction. The leadup to the Old Ivory King is very different than the other two DLC's, as the arena itself has portals that mobs can spawn out of if players ignored the Loyce Knights spread throughout. But, mor🌱e than that, the Ivory King is just so insanely badass!
7 Dark Souls 3: Halflight,𒁏 The Spear Of The Church
The Ringed City DLC for Dark Souls 3 answers many questions that fans have had about the setting since the original game. But, it also adds just as many questions as it answers such as anything having to do with Filianore. Still, a mechanic many fans weren't expecting to return is one that actually started way back in Demon's Souls with the Old Monk.
We're of course talking about the idea of summoning other players as an in🐎tegral part of the boss fight, which Halflight brings back to the table with the Spears of the Church covenant. We're happy to see this mechanic returning, and it adds a lot of extra content to the Ringed City DLC.
6 Dark Souls 1: Artorias The Abysswalker 🥂
Artorias was one of Gwyn's Four Elite Knights and arguably the coolest. He's based on the character of Guts 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:from the popular manga Berserk, has a giant Wolf companion, and benefits from one of FromSoft's best human designs. But, the actual gameplay in the fight itself is what really stands out. Even being as difficult as it is (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:especially with a summon), standing your ground against a now corrupted Artor🎃ias is just so much fun. It also reinforces the idea that no one could've beaten Artorias at his prime, as the version play𒀰ers fight in the DLC is just a shard of who the man really was.
5 𝐆 Dark Souls 2: Afflicted Graverob🐬ber, Ancient Soldier Varg, and Cerah the Old Explorer
So far up to this point, every boss we've 🐲talked about is unique in their lore, gameplay, and overall atmosphere, but this next one is unique in a different way. Primarily, the Graverobbers fight is unique in the sense that there's almost no lore here and none of the three NPCs even drop a soul that would point towards some sort of connection between them. Basically, it's an AI-controlled PVP fight between the player character, a Havel cosplayer, a bow-wielding Lucatiel fan, and an Alva-idolizing dual-blade user. There's not much to say outside of that, this "boss-fight" doesn't really feel like one, doesn't add to the lore of the area, and isn't all too fun, but it is absolutely unique.
4 𝄹 Dark Soul🍷s 3: Sister Friede
Sister Friede is without a doubt meant to be the most difficult boss-figh💯t in Dark S🐼ouls 3, with an astounding three phases that progressively get harder and harder. For the First Phase, Sister Friede simply comes at the Ashen Undead with her scythe and a myriad of frost-afflicting spells. Phase two revolves around Ariandel slamming a🐼 bowl onto the player character while Friede interrupts from the side. Then, Phase 3 has Friede transform into Blackflame Friede and come at the player with an all-new moveset and life bar. In this final phase, Friede deals dark damage and is at her most difficult. There's a lot to this confrontation, and every part of it feels inventive and new.
3 ꩵ Dark Souls 2: Lud And Zallen, The King's Pets
There are a ton of optional boss fights in Dark Souls 2. In fact, most of the bosses in the original release were optional with the Shrine of Winter worka🐷round. But, one of the least talked aboutജ and most unique optional bosses within all three DLC's has to be Lud and Zallen.
These two were the pets of the Ivory King🦄, and they were obviously corrupted by Alsanna's Darkness. These feral cats are meant to be fought in co-op by summonin♍g a friend, and it's one of the only fights in the series that was designed for the online multiplayer. Are they the most fun bosses to fight? Not really, but still quite the novel concept.
2 ಞ Dark Souls 3: The Demon Prince
The Demon Prince is honestly one of the tougher fights in Dark Souls 3. This two-phase battle is both very interesting and very frustrating since the player has to defeat this Prince in order to even access the Ringed City DLC. The Demon Prince is actually the second phase of this fight, as the first phase is a battle between the Ashen Undead, The Demon From Below, and the Demon In Pain. FromSoft games are best when it's a 1-v-1 situation, so we're not sure why they keep attempting encounters like this with multiple enemies, but it makes the fight very hectic. Still, the fact that the Demon Prince's moveset changes depending on which Demon the player killed first is insane, and the pure spectacle of this fight is unlike most other bosses in the entirety of the Souls series (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:except for maybe The Old Demon King).
1 𒐪 D🧔ark Souls 2: Sir Alonne
Sir Alonne might be one of the most respectful bosses within all of Souls (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:other than maybe the Crossbre♛ed P♋riscilla). Without a doubt, every time the player enters this final part of the Old Iron King DLC, Sir Alonne the honorable knight will bow to them with respect for making it this far 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in the excruciatingly difficult B🐻rume Tower. Alonne is another human vs human fight, but with so much more grace and finesse than against someone like Fume Knight or Smough. Alonne is insanely fast, aims right for the most critical spots, and is an insanely difficult boss overall. The atmosphere, design of his arena, overall respect, and nature of this fight altogether just absolutely feel unique to Dark Souls 2, and it's something we haven't seen since.
