The University of California Berkeley campus had a virtual commencement ceremony hosted entirely in Minecraft.
As with every other major educational institution in America (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and many beyond America), UC Berkeley’s graduation was canceled. The students still graduated, but that momentous day where everyone piles into California Memorial Stadium to grab their degrees and throw their hats into the air--that was canceled. We’re pretty sure 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you already know why.
However, UC Berkeley had a backup plan. Rather than have a sad little Zoom call where everyone was told they’d graduated and got virtual copies of their degrees, school officials and the campus community banded together to create a virtual ceremony unlike any other, all hosted in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Minecraft.
First, they recreated UC Berkeley’s campus in Minecraft, from Sprout Hall to Anderson Auditorium. Second, the entire graduating student body was invited to take part in a virtual commencement ceremony complete with Minecraft avatars. And third, school officials nabbed Twitc♏h co-founder Justin Kan and Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan to give keynote addresses.
Oh, and they hosted a two-day virtu💙al ✱music festival and broadcast the whole thing on Twitch.
With a huge virtual stage and a lineup including acts from Boze, Bakermat, EDX, Veni Vici, Ben Pots, J🌌ustin Caruso, Lizzy, and many more, Blockeley Music Festival was a 48-hour romp that got started right after evౠeryone threw their pixelated mortarboards into the air.
You can watch the whole thing on .
