While games for the Xbox Series X/S might be getting underway during 2021, t🍨here are still many releases planned for the Xbox One. The ongoing success of the Games Pass promises some fantastic deals this year, including Day One releases and console exclusives.
This list takes a look at some of the upcoming releases for the Xbox One that you might have lost in the next-gen hype of E3. There are some familiar names he♈re, as well as a few that we think you might not have heard about.
10 The🍃 Ascent (July 29th)
It seems fitting to start the list off with a game that is arriving on Game Pass on Day One. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Ascent is a solo or co-op shooter set on the cyberpunk world of Veles, and it arrived with a great trailer at this year's E3.
Developed by Neon Giant and published by Curve Digital, The Ascent is a game that is graphically striking, featuring detailed futuristic city streets cluttered with neon lights. The gameplay is described as a Diablo-like shooter, with ample amounts of loot and in-depth RPG mechanics. It arrives on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on J🅰uly 29th.
9 Lemnisꦓ Gate (August 3rd)
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Lemnis Gate is a mindboggling strategy FPS where players take turns to compete against each other over the course of the same 25-second turns. Sound complicated? Wel✨l, it is. Think of it as a little bit like Chess, but with guns.
As mentioned, players take turns to make their moves. Characters continue their actions in an endless loop, with each player adding in another character each turn. Honestly, it's completely beyond comprehension unless you go and watch some gameplay. Just do it. Lemnis Gate is out on Xbox One and all other platforms on August 3rd.
8 Monster 𒆙Harvest (August 19th)
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Buckled by continuous delays, it's no wonder that Monster Harvest might have flown under your radar. It was first meant to be released in May 2021, then July 2021, and it's now facing a further delay until the end of the year. Monster Harvest is an indie title that combines the farming mechanics of Stardew Valley, adds in the battling and creature-collecting mechanics of Pokemon, and gives it a coat of Octopath Traveller's retro 16-bit paint.
The concept of Monster Harvest a bit surreal. You basically grow Pokemon (called Planimals in the game) that mutate from beans and berries into creatures that will fight for you. It's cute, has a great art style, and will appeal to fans of games like Stardew Valley and Forager. The developer, Merge Games, has stated that they want the game shipped by August 19th. It will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
7 🍷 Twelve Minutes (19th Auꦆgust)
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Twelve Minutes looks fascinating, like many games from Annapurna Interactive. Developed by Luis Antonio, a Portuguese indie developer and writer previous🍃ly of Rockstar Games, Twelve Minutes is a top-down poiಌnt-and-click game that follows the story of a man stuck in a twelve-minute time loop, featuring James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe as voice actors.
Inspired by cinematic classics like The Shining and Memento, the game takes place over the course of twelve minutes in real-time, but it's been confirmed that the game will likely take between six to eight hours to complete. The game was shown at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival alongside the news that it will release on August 19th, 2021 for Xbox and PC.
6 🔥 Sable (September🐷 23rd)
Sable was a hidden gem during this year's E3, followed up by a demo on Xbox that received heavy praise from pretty much everyone that played it. We evܫen thought Sable was a game of the year contender, and that was just the demo.
Though it has an art style and gameplay that is a bit reminiscent of Journey, comparing Sable to that game seems a bit unfair. While the worldbuilding of Journey was one of its greatest successes, it's pretty clear (even from the short demo available on Xbox) that Sable takes it to another level with bikes, sand pillars, and gliding mechanics. Sable is a game to watch out for when it releases on September 23rd, 2021.
5 Forza Horizon 5 (November♔ 9th)
Yes, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Forza Horizon 5 is also arriving on Xbox One. Despite being a flagship game for the Xbox Series X/S, players will still be able to play Horizon 5 on the base Xbox One console. With other next-gen titles also arriving on every variation of consoles, it's likely we'll still see last-gen releases for some time. Forza Horizon 5 also arrives on Day One for Game Pass.
Forza Horizon 5 is desc𓄧ribed as the most diverse, social, and adventurous g🌳ame in the series so far. It takes place in the vibrant and evolving landscapes of Mexico, a world away from the muggy climes of the Scottish highlands. Forza Horizon 5 is arriving on Xbox One consoles on November 9th.
4 🐷 Chernobylꦏite (July TBA)
Chernobylit💦e released on൲ Steam early access way back in 2019, but an Xbox One version arrives at some point during July. No concrete date has been announced yetꦑ🌳. With largely favorable reviews on Steam, Chernobylite is an RPG adventure game that takes you through challenging locations, both in terms of puzzles and combat, and the psychological horrors that await you in the irradiated wastes.
Developed by The Farm 51 and published by All In! Games, the game is set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and it's the player's job to explore the area and find their significant other somewhere out there. The game's map was recreated from actual 3D scans of the Exclusion Zone in Ukraine.
3 Death's Door (July 20th)
Devolver Digital continues to publish potential indie gems, and Death's Door is another that might be added to this list 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:when it releases at the end of July. Developed by Acid Nerve, 🧸the game follows the story of an 𝓰adorable crow who also turns out to be the reaper of souls.
The crow isn't just collecting souls of the ordinary, though. This game is more about terrifying boss fights with bizarre enemies, including a witch who stuffs the heads of the dead into urns. Expect a whimsical (if somewhat grim) narrative interspersed with big boss fights. Another potential indie gem for 2021? We think so.
2 The Anacrusis (F🐭all 2021)
Lost in the hype of E3 was a game called The Anacrusis, a co-op zombie shooter — though these aren't technically zombies, they're aliens. Described as an infinitely replayable four-player shooter, the game is developed by studio Stray Bombay and hopes to recreate some of the Left 4 Dead magic that players have been sorely missing.
While the first trailers of The Anacrusis look like the game might need a bit of polishing before its r🎃elease later this year, there is potential here for a class-based shooter with unlockable perks and customization. It arrives in the Fall of 2021.
1 Dead Static Drive (TBA) ♈
We've been following Dead Static Drive since June of last year because the self-described Lovecraftian-horror road trip sounds like a blast. Its slick retro style and washed-out colors give the game a very distinct look, cementing it firmly on our list of anticipated indie hits.
Developed by Team Fanclub, Dead Static Drive is set to be released at some point in 2021 for both PC and Xbox consoles, although an exact release date has yet to be announced. You can follow the game's various teasers and trailers on its official Steam page.
