Twitch wasn't the only thing that was hacked last week, the US Navy also put out a statement saying that one of it's ships was hacked. Well, that's what a navy representative said, but it seems like someone just forgot to log out of their Facebook account.
The Facebook page of the USS Kidd usually puts up standard posts about crewmates, maneuvers, and other navy related exercises. So it was pretty surprising when the page suddenly started streaming Age of Empires out of nowhere. It wasn't just one time, the so called "hacker" streamed the game a total six separate times between October 3 and 4.
“The official Facebook page for USS Kidd (DDG 100) was hacked,” Navy spokesperson Cmdr. Nicole Schwegman, told , a military news sit𝕴e (thanks, ). “We are currently working with Facebook technical support to resolve the issue.”
Cmdr. Schwegman unfortunately used the term ''hacked" a bit loosely. As there was no real data or security breach. What happened was similar to when your friends get their hands on your Facebook account and post something like "I like big butts", or something equally juvenile. Hats off to this person though, streaming Age of Empires on the official Facebook page of a warship was surprising and confusing at the same time; mostly because we now know that US Navy warships have Facebook pages for some reason.
Schwegman later told Task & Purpose that the account’s “access has been secured by Facebook, and once their procedures are complete we’ll regain access to the page.” When asked specifically about whether the account was “hacked,” Schwegman said that the “USS Kidd’s ♚Facebook p🍬age had an unauthorized access from an unknown entity.”
While this ''hack" was seemingly harmless, the Twitch hack leaked 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:25GB worth of data, including its source code and creator payout reports. "We have learned that some data was exposed to the inꦬternet due to an error in a Twitch server configuration 𝄹change that was subsequently accessed by a malicious third party," said an update by the streaming platform.
Fortunately 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a later update said that "no indicaꦜtion that login credentials have been exposed."
