The previously Oculus Rift exclusive Vader Immortal: A 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars VR Series is finally coming to consoles. Announced this morning on the PlayStation Blog, both Sony and developer ILMxLAB have confirmed that the premiere Star Wars VR experience will be pla𒈔yable on PSVR sometime this summer.
Comprised of three different episodes, it seems like the whole shebang will be brought over to the PS4 at once. The different chapters, which run about an hour each, form✃ a small story that sees the player traveling into☂ a Sith fortress to do battle with the iconic Darth Vader. It was supposedly fun if a bit undercooked.
While the PS4 version won't have the same graphical fidelity of its PC counterpart, i🧜t is ridiculously cheaper to buy int⛄o. PlayStation VR headsets are nowhere near as expensive as an Oculus Rift and the hardware required to power this thing is much cheaper than a VR capable PC.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, ILMxLAB's Mark S. Miller (
) explains how the team recreated the legendary lightsabers for use in Vader Immortal. "We went through many different mechanics, both in-house and with our partners at Ninja Theory," Miller explains, "before we got to the point where you really felt like you were parrying a blow, slicing through metal, or blocking blaster fire." It's a pret💛ty nice read for those interested.Vader Immortal received plenty of awards post-release. It may not be the definitive Star Wars VR title, but it's th🐟e best one currently available. Having that magic on PSVR will bring it to a whole new audience that would otherwise ♒not be able to play it. Such is the prohibitive nature of this technology.
What is more interesting to think about is how Sony is going to support PSVR once the PlayStation 5 is out in the wild. Will a newer, improved headset be created for the stronger hardware? Will previously purchased games play on PS5 while utilizing the current headset? It's a lot to think about as we enter the next generation and could become a dealbreaker for picking up Vader Immortal on PS4.
