Throwing back several pints of mead or wine and then several more is a staple of Viking culture. In Valheim, however, throwing a few back does more🅺 than celebrate victories or m🍒ourning losses.
Brewing alcohol is how Iron Gate incorporated potio🉐ns into the game. Rather than seeking out a herbalist or dabbling in the alchemical a🍒rts as you would in other games, Valheim's Vikings must build a brewery and start crafting various alcohol to fortify their health.
Equipment
To begin brewing operations, you'll n꧅eed to craft a cauldron and a fermenter. However, these require unattainable materials at the start of the game, so you'll first need to defeat Eikthyr, the first boss in order to craft the horn pick axe and begin mining.
A cauldron requires 10 tin to craft, which you can mine along the coast of Black Forest biomes, then simply place it over a fire pit to begin brewing alcohol bases. Each base is comprised of several components and will yield six end products 🔥when processed in the fermenter.
A fermenter can be crafted using 30 pieces of fine wood, 5 bronze, and 10 lumps of resin. It must be placed under some type of cover, though nothing exorbitant is required. You could build a small brewing shack to ho🐭use all your equipment and materials, or you can make do with one wooden wall, two blocks high and capped with a small roof.
