This is a challenging dungeon of unique puzzles, difficult enemies, and devious platforming segments. You'll be able to take this dungeon on in Chapter 3.

While it's a pretty small dungeon, you might end up spending quite a lot of time in the Oddrock Caves - its puzzles are finicky and there are some Dragon Zombies who can prove to be brick walls of pain if you're not prepared for them.

Oddrock Caves Overview

To access Oddrock Caves, you'll have to wait until you've recruited Kashell from Camille Village in Chapter 3. Once you've done that, you can enter Camille Village and find Oddrock Caves by going to the cemetery. Be sure to pick up the Vainslayer sword on the way!

The enemies in this dungeon can be very annoying. Make sure you've stocked up on Elixirs before heading in!

The Upper Levels

Head down the stairs, defeating the knight along the way, and then head one screen to the right. There's a Dragon Zombie here - use one of the methods detailed in the section above to defeat it. If you find yourself without the requisite items, you may be able to whittle it down with fire spells, but it's better to just backtrack once you have the Dragon Slayer sword from later in this dungeon.

Head two screens to the left until you reach an exit to the rear - you'll find the Defend skill book inside. This is a very useful skill to learn, so do so. Just to the left of this room, you'll find two of the mechanics you'll have to deal with in this dungeon:

• Patrolling statues that move right to left. Touching one of these will deal a little damage and freeze you in place for a while, as if you'd been hit with your own crystal.
• Hanging eyeballs that shoot freezing lasers.

You'll have to avoid the statues and the lasers, and later use those lasers to your advantage.

Hop over the statue and head one screen to the left. Here, carefully climb the ladder, avoiding the two lasers, and then enter the room on the left on the upper level. There are lots of enemies here, and a chest with an arrow trap. This might be your first encounter with arrow traps - just jump when you open the chest and the arrow should hopefully fire underneath you. The chest contains a Flare Baselard, a powerful fire-elemental sword.

The Middle Levels

Return to the previous room and, this time, take the exit to the front on the lower level. Move all the way to the right, being wary of the patrolling statue. Eventually, you'll come across a large wall of slime near one of the eyeball lasers - the solution here is to fire a crystal at the ground in a way that makes the laser bounce off the crystal and into the slime wall.

The laser will freeze the wall, and you can use your sword to smash through, letting you get to the other side.

On the next screen, head down to the ground floor and head one screen to the left. This room is filled with chests - all trapped with arrows - and a Dragon Zombie. It will be difficult to swing your sword over the first chest to attack the Dragon Zombie without picking up the chest, so just open the chest first. Remember to jump over the arrow! This chest contains an Eye of Heaven.

With that chest opened, defeat the Dragon Zombie and then open the rest of the chests. The middle chest contains the Sap Guard spell and the left chest contains a Dragon Slayer sword. Handy!

With that done, move two screens to the right to find two more chests. Again, they are both trapped with arrows. They contain the Warhammer spear and the Trick Step skill book. Both are pretty good, but nothing special. Return now to the screen where you dealt with the slime wall - take the exit to the front in the middle of this room.

The Lower Levels

There are two slime walls to freeze on this screen. The first one is easy enough, but the second will require you to bounce the laser off the ceiling and then again on the floor to the left. Jump with the up directional button held to fire crystals at the ceiling - if the crystal ends up in the wrong place, destroy it by firing more crysta🐓ജl projectiles at it.

Once you've bypassed both slime walls, head to the left and down the stairs. There's another easily frozen slime wall here, and a third (and final) Dragon Zombie. Once they're both dealt with, continue on. On the next screen, head down the stairs to the ground floor - you can ignore the statue and the screen to the left - there is only a Memory Stone there. Instead, head to the right, and then to the front. There is an enemy here and another Memory Stone - use this one to save your game.

Heading to the right again will lead to the boss battle. If you have the Daemon Slayer sword from Nethov💎 Swamp, now is the🦩 time to equip it.

How To Beat The Greater Demon

If you have the aforementioned Daemon Slayer, this battle is already over - just attack once and you're golden.

Greater Demon is one of the first enemies in the game that routinely evades and counters your attacks. This is annoying, but it can be exploited. Try to bait out an evade with a single attack, and then have a very quick attack (such as Valkyrie's combo starter) ready to interrupt the Demon's counter. If you can hit the Demon before its counter connects, you can knock it back and get on with your regular combo.

Alternatively, start the combo with a magic attack - those cannot be evaded as phys💫ical attacks can.

This battle is all about learning how to deal with evasive enemies, and it's not too tough. Just have healing items on hand, as the Demon's Fire Storm deals quite a lot of damage.

If you're lucky, you can get the Greater Demon to drop the Poison Blow spell.

Oddrock Caves Artifacts

Once the battle is over, you'll be presented with two artifacts.
