Sage hails from China and is known as "both shield and sword" thanks to her abilities. Not only is she an expert healer, but she also has some tremendous controlling skills. She's one of the best agents in VALORANT and usually one of the first picks on any team. Her value comes in the fact that she can heal and revive players. She's also good at slowing down flankers and pushers with her Barrier Orb and Slow Orb.
Barrier Orb
The Barrier Orb is a large wall made of ice. Sage can rotate it to fit into a particular area before casting it to block off enemy routes. Once the wall is placed, there's no way around it apart from shooting the segments until they break. Any enemy that's trying to get through will give themselves away and give you a chance to counter them.
The Barrier Orb is particularly useful for slowing down the enemy team and blocking their route. In a game where speed and momentum are crucial to victory, stopping enemies dead in their tracks can shift the balance of the game. Apart from blocking off enemy routes, the Barrier Orb is also effective at breaking up a firefight. If your team is outnumbered or getting overwhelmed, you 🤪can put up the wall to catch a breather and give your team time to reload and regroup.
One of the other usﷺeful features of the Barrier Orb is to lift you into a better position. Just cast the orb beneath you, and it will rise with you on top. You can then get a better vantage point or climb onto higher ground. The Barrier Orb can only be used once in a round, so you have to be wise when deploying it.
Slow Orb
The Slow Orb is a ball that gets shot out of Sage's hands and creates a layer of ice on the ground when it detonates. The ice slows down anyone who tries to walk on it, including allies, so it should be used carefully.
It can be used the way grenades are used in other games, launching it towards the enemy position to neutralize them. The Slow Orb workꦇs well to block off routes, and once enemies are slowed down, they become easy targets.
Healing Orb
The Healing Orb is an asset to the whole team and can be the difference between winning or losing a round. It can be used to either heal 🦂yourself or a teammate but takes a few🍎 seconds to work.
Considering the cooldown time, you might only get to use this ability once or twice in a round. This means you have to decide if you really want to help your teammate or rather save it for yourself. If you're hit, it's always wise to health yourself first. If you aren't, helping your teammate might advance your goal and win the game. One of the best things about the Healing Orb is that you can heal your teammate from far.
Resurrection
Sage's ultimate ability, Resurrection, is probably the strongest in the game. Being able to bring a fallen comrade to life can drastically turn the odds in your favor, especially towards the end of the game.
Sage has to be reasonably close to the body to resurrect a teammate, and the process takes a few seconds. There's also an announcement that you've revived your teammate, so enemies will be on the lookout for both of you. It's best to try this ultimate when there's time, and you're not under fire.
Tactics
Sage, in particular, benefits from collecting the black orbs, which help to charge her ultimate. The sooner it gets charged, the more teammates she can bring back💝 into battle. She also excels in a support role of moving behind her teammates and sealing off the area from flankers.
Combining abilities is another 🦹effective way to play. Sage can easily block off an area, then immediately heal or resurrect someone. She can even raise a wall with her on top and send Slow Orbs to stop the enemy. If the spike is placed in a strategic place, Sage can build a wall to block it off, then surround the wall with ice.
Thes꧒e abilities make Sage one of the most poꦆtent agents in the game and an asset to any team.
