VALORANT, currently in closed beta, is not expected to be fully released until sometime this summ💟er. That gives fans of the tactical shooter plenty of time to 🐷study and learn the ins and outs of the game's intricate and unique map designs.
There are currently three maps available to play in the closed beta, with Riot promising four upon full release. Each map we've seen so far has some sort of unique charactღeristic that differentiates it from the other two. So what maps will be available when the game launches? How is each map unique? To answer these questions, here's a small dive into each map in .
Haven
If you've played any amount of CS:GO in the past, many features of VALORANT may 🀅seem familiar to you. Haven is no different. W♛ith three lanes to cover, it's essentially the classic tactical shooter map. There are longer sight lines on the outer edges, while the middle of the map will host more close range duels. However, if something about Haven feels just a little bit different, it may be the fact that the map has three bomb sites, making that middle lane all the more important.
With the extra bomb site, teams are forced to cover more ground on Haven, making each individual player's duties on both offense and defense more critical. The bomb sites are somewhat close together, which makes rotating 🌟between points easier on the defense, despite having to keep track of an extra bomb site. Positioning and game sense are the keys to winning games on Haven.
Bind
Rather than having the traditional three lane setup that is so often seen in tactical shooter map designs, Riot decided on a two lane layout for Bind, making rotational adjustments more difficult to accomplish. Bind makes up for the lack of a mid lane with two-way portals, which when entered let out a loud noise, alerting the entir💞e map of their use.
There are a total of two portals which can be used to teleport between points on the map. One of them exists near the B-bombsite, which connects to the complete other side of the map, near the A-bomb site. The other, smaller portal lies in the center of the map, connecting the two lanes. Players are able to cast their agent abilities through the 🐻two portals.
Split
At first glance Split may seem like an ordin🤪ary tactical🅰 shooter map, but it's made unique through its verticality. Split has the typical three lane, two bombsite layout, but has a plethora of high ground advantages which can be deadly if not monitored.
The map features zi⛦p wires that allow for quick and easy access of Split's high ground. Narrow choke points are another characteristic of this m🍌ap, making it all the more deadly.
Ascent?
Although there is no official information about VALORANT's fourth map, there have been some leaks and rumors. A on Reddit who goes by the name UlfricTh💃eThird' found the map's layout as well as some textures hidden in the game files. According to the leak, the map will be based in Italy and will have a Venetian theme. Ascent's layout has three lanes and two bombsites, and looks similar to the design of Split.
Riot Games went all out in their map designs for VALORANT, and learning the intricacies of each one🎐 is the f🧔irst step to becoming a better player.
