Abilities

As a duelist, Raze's playstyle is a lot more competitive than some of VALORANT's other agents. Her abilities allow her to rush into the action and frag any opponents who get too close. Like all of the g⛦ame's characters, Raze has three abilities that can bꦇe used in battle.

1. Blast Pack

Raze's Blast Packs, which can be used𝓡 by hitting Q in-game, are a great little tool to have on the battlefield -- and can be used in a variety of different ways. Raze can obtain up to two Blast Packs per round, with each costi🌃ng 200 credits. To use a Blast Pack, simply throw it in any direction and either wait for it to detonate on its own or Re-Use it (by hitting Q), which detonate it, causing damage and moving anything that's been hit.

Though Blast Packs don't have much range, they can be great in close combat. Not only can they do damage to nearby enemies, but they can also be extremely helpful if you're surroꦫunded and want to scare off an opponent or two. Simply throw out a Blask Pack and get ready to jump into the action. Blast Packs also don't do any damage to Raze and can be used to shoot her into the air with their momentum, which can be extremely helpful if you want to get the high ground and see some big crates laying about. Not only that, but as mentioned above, a Blast Pack can also move things that have been hit by it -- including an enemy who's planting a spike. So, if you're running out of time and rushing a planting enemy, don't hesitate to throw one at them to distrupt them.

2. Paint Shells

Raze's signature ability, Paint Shells, lets her throw out a cluster grenade, which can🎶 pack a deadly punch to any nearby opponents. Paint Shells doesn't only do damage, though: it also creates multiple sub-munitions after the first explosion, which can do even more damage to unwary enemies. By hitting E, Raze can either throw the grenade into the distance (left click) or toss it underhand for closer combat (right click). Raze recieves one free Paint Shells each round and can obtain another after two kills in one round, so it's important to make them count.

On the battlefield, Raze's cluster grenade is perfect to throw at cornered opponents, as it can be a great way to flush them out into the open. Paint Shells also has a decent range and can detonate midair, causing its sub-munitions to rain dow🦂n to the ground and doing damage to anyone below. And there's no discounting its power, as it can kill enemies who aren't wearing any armor, making i💝t a great tool to set the stage at the beginning of a match. However, it's worth noting that it can also do damage to Raze and her teammates.

3. Boom Bot

Boom Bot is Raze's perfect little robot friend. By deploying it with C, Raze can send the little scout rolling out into battle to cause all kinds of carnage. Though the destructive Roomba can only deployed in a straight line, it can bump off of walls, sending it into different dir𝔍ections. Once it finds an opponent, it will lock onto them and chase them before exploding, causing an exorbitant amount of damage. And, if your enemy is able to shoot down the Bot before it detonates, it'll at least give you a good clue about where they are. Tꦇhankfully for your opponents, though, it can only be purchased once per round for 200 credits.

Raze's Boom Bot can be used both defensively and offensively. Defensively, it's perfect for scouting an area on the map and can help your team figure out🎀 if there are any enemies nearby. Offensively, it can be a great tool to use if you want to rush opponents and jump into the action right away. Deploying the Bot can also be a great way to distract your enemies and trick them into thinking your team is coming from another area if you decide to circle back the way you came after sending it out. Some players have even mastered the art of using Raze's Boom Bot and Blast Pack together, by ♍either with the help of a Pack or by attaching a Pack.

Ultimate: Showstopper

Raze's ultimate, Showstopper, lets her equip a rocket launcher and send it blasting through the air at opponents. Though it costs six points to activate, Showstopper does a lot of area damage and, if targetted well, can one-shot any opponent caught in its crossfire. It's only con is its animation, as it can take a few seconds for Raze to get the rocket launcher out and ready. Because of this, it's best to prepare Showstopper ahead of time before jumping into the action and attacking. It's also important to note that, unlike some of the other ultimates in VALORANT, ✨Showstopper can only be equipped for a limited period of time before Raze puts it away, so make sure to take full advantage of it while it's out.

Similar to her abilities, Raze's Showstopper can be combined with other attacks to make it even more effective. For example, after equipping the Rocket Launcher, Raze can throw out and detonate a Blast Pack to launch herself into the air so that she can fire the missile more accurately on enemies below. Timing this can be extremely beneficial for other reasons too, since using a Blast Pack and Raze's ultimat𒉰e together , which is great if you want to take an enemy by surprise. Raze also gets pushed backwards after using Showstopper, which can be perfect if you've rushed into an area filled with opponents and need ☂to get into a defensive position after firing.

Other Tips

Though many🍃 fans will be quick to say that Raze is OP and should be nerfed, it's important to remember that playing her correctly isn't always easy. She may have some incredible abilities and an explosive ultimate, but players shouldn't rely exclusively on them. Depending on how they're used, opponents can easily avoid blasts and take Raze down once she runs out of available abilities. For a well-rounded Raze, players should also depend on their weapons and teamm💮ates.

Given Raze's ꧒blunt-force-trauma and aggressive playstyle, it's best to pair her up with a flexible team consisting of controllers like Omen or Brimstone and sentinels like Sage or Cypher, who can expertly defend an area against opponents while Raze knocks them down.

Overall,  VALORANT's Raze is an extremely versatile agent who can be used both defensively and offensively. While her explosions and missiles make her a great agent who is capable of taking out opponents head-on, ൩she can also be used more stealthily to detect enemies and slowly take down tꦿhe other team. Either way, she's always a fun agent to play.
