Valorant's popularity is on an incredible rise lately. Similar to CS:GO, Valorant is a five-on-five, search and destroy-type multiplayer. Unlike CS:GO though, Valorant's agents use unique abilities in an attempt to gain an advanꦗtage on the battlefield.
Certain agents rely on stealth, while others are bett📖er suited to go in guns blazing. Sabine, or better yet Viper, utilizes poisonous toxins to gain the upper hand on her enemies. But there's more than meets the eye for this toxic agent.
6 👍 Controller
Just like every other agent, Viper's effectiveness can be measured based on the map and whether her team is on offense or defense. ♕Luckily for Viper, her skillset can be utilized on most of the six Valorant maps, but maps with smaller confined areas prove to be the best. In maps like Ascent, Bind, or even Split with its three bomb sites, Viper's Toxic Screen can cut enemy visuals, providing a chance for her team to take command of a site.
While Viper's abilities can help her team on either side of the spike, she's optimal on offense. Having the ability to blind the enemy team with her poison wall or u♎se her Snake Bite to form a pool of acid on the spike so꧑ the enemy can't defuse is invaluable. Also, her ultimate Viper's Pit is a near surefire victory on offense. Allies are not harmed in the gas cloud, while the enemy's health will rapidly drop down to one. On top of that, enemies are highlighted inside of the cloud, making them easy targets for Viper and her team.
5 🍨 American Chemist
In her biography, Sabine is also referred to as the American Chemist. In her studies, she's developed various poisonous devices and 🍬found countless ways to make sure her enemy suffers. An interesting tidbit in the last battle pass is an unlockable banner card. Banner cards are items to equip onto your profile that show up in the party menu and the pre-game loading screen.
Tier 29 of the battle pass shows Viper and Reyna squaring off on top and the bottom showing what looks to be an adult Viper holding hands with a little girl. Because the top of the cardไ shows Reyna, it's easy to infer that the little girl is the Mexican Empress or someone of much importance to her. Did Viper augment Reyna's molecular structure, resulting in her acquiring powers? Was the little girl Reyna's daughter? Whatever the case, there seems to be clear animosity between the two agents.
4 🅷 Toxi🍰c Abilities
There's a reason why Sabine is known as Viper or the American Chemist. Each of her abilities incorporates the poisonous toxin she experiments with, making her a formidable foe or deadly ally. Her three normal abilities are Snake Bite, Poison Cloud, and Toxic Screen. Viper's ulti▨mate ability is called Viper's Pit.
Snake Bite
Viper's Snake Bite is one of𒅌 the best abilities in preventing the enemy from defusing the spike. When used, Viper fires a vial of poison that creates a 𝕴pool of acid that will rapidly eat away at the enemy's life.
Poison Cloud
Poison Cloud and Toxic Screen are used to obscure the enemy's vision. Poison Cloud is a large ball of poison gas that sticks 🐼around for a long time. It's hard to maintain this, though, as it costs toxin levels that will run out quickly. It'll stick around as long as you can fuel it.
Toxic Screen
This ability is similar to Poison Cloud in function; it♛ creates a long, high wall emitting toxic fumes that will hurt enemies that walk through it. Unfortunately, Viper is unable to sustain the wall for that long, just like with the Poison Cloud, as her toxin levels decrease when the abilities are activated.
Viper's Pit
However, Viper's ultimate ability, Viper's Pit, creates a toxic mushroom cloud, envel🔥oping much of the surrounding area. This cloud reduces enemy's maximum health 🍨and makes it hard for them to see. Viper can keep the ultimate cloud up as long as she stays within its boundaries, or at least returns to it every 15 seconds.
3 Foun๊der o✨f Valorant Protocol
Around 2039, an event occurred on Earth that changed everything.꧅ Known as First Light, this event made significant changes to our daily lives and technology. People around the world were developing strange abilities and starting to ca🗹ll themselves Radiants.
Following First Light, . 𝐆This initiative would recruit unique powered individuals to fight against other Radiants who decide to use their newly obtained abilities for evil. Although Viper was one of 𒀰the two founders, Sage is acknowledged as being in top command with Brimstone.
2 Past Life
It's possiblไe that Sabine wasn't always the toxic chemist that everyone knows her to be. In one of Omen's in-game dialogues, he says, "Just think Sabine. You used to heal with your skill. Funny." Also, Sabine and Omen knew one another from before th꧋e Valorant Protocol was executed. Valorant only has two true healers, Sage and Skye, although Skye can only heal her teammates and not herself. Phoenix can heal himself by using a grenade or throwing up his fire wall, but the flames would obviously harm his teammates.
Thinking about how Sabine used her skills to heal rather th𒀰an hurt people is an interesting thought to have. It's unknown whether Sabine would've used more of a healing concoction of her toxins o𒆙r something else entirely. What happened that made Sabine give up healing and become Viper instead?
1 ⭕ ও Worst-to-First
Upon release, Viper was one of the lowest-rated agents in Valorant. From pros to casuals, players expressed their dissatisfaction with the character's abilities. The D💟ecay side-effect of he♈r abilities barely harmed enemies, leaving her virtually bottom-tier outside of just normal gunplay tactics.
It wasn't until patch 2.06 where Viper experienced a significant 🐈buff in her abilities. 🌄Her Decay side-effect would deal a minimum of 50 damage if an enemy tried crossing her Toxic Screen or Poison Cloud, catapulting Viper's effectiveness. However, her reign of supremaꦉcy was cut short when Decay damage from 50 to 30.
