It’s been revealed that Valve considered producing a new singleplayer RPG that was inspired by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dark Souls, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Monster Hunter, & 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Elder Scrolls.

According to , the rather vague details of this envisioned IP come from a report released by Valve called “The Final Ho𓆏urs Of Half-Life: Alyx”. The report is available for purchase on and is an inside look by Geoff Keighley into Valve’s work over the last ten years.

Code-named “RPG” the title was meant to be released piece by piece over time with each new chunk of content adding new experiences and additional features. It only ever reached the conceptual stage and details about the setting, story, or environmen🍰t haven’t꧙ been revealed, likely because it never got that far.

Although it could be that this was the RPG Gabe Newell was alluding to in an interview with in 2010. During the interview, he stated that Valve had been working on a “flying fairy game” that was meant to be an RPG of sorts. Supposedly the game had spells that were “based on movement and mouse gestures”. The project was canned as it was considered “bad” by the developers. They instead focused on developing what would later become 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Left 4 Dead.

Supposedly a round of development for the RPG occurred sometime between 2012 and 2014 before quietly closing down forever. The reason for canceling the project during conception was never stated. It’s possible the company was too busy porting older games over to Linux in 2013 and releasing titles like Dota 2, Counter-Strike Online 2, Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies¸ and Left 4 Dead: Survivors. It could also be that the project was simply deemed not worth the effort and scrapped༒.

The unnamed RPG is one of many projects that Valve has canceled over the years. High profile examples include titles like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life 2: Episode Three¸ Half-Life 2: Episode Four also known as Return To Ravenholm, and a space pirate game known as Stars Of Blood.

Given the extraordinary success of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life: Alyx the developers at Valve are likely prioritizing virtual reality-based games and other 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:interesting tech moving forward. Time will♌ only tell if the abandoned RPG might make a reappearance as a VR title or if it will forever remain on the shelves of discarded ideas at Valve.
