Valve is to support the South American competitive Dota 2 scene. The partnership will see Valve contribute $45,000 USD in prize money across two upcoming Dota 2 tournaments put on by Movistar LPG. The region’s competitive scene has stalle🃏d due to the coronavirus pandemic, and this deal aims to help jumpstart competition in South America.

Liga Pro Gaming has hosted twelve total competitive Dota 2 seasons since its 2018 launch. The league transitioned to Movistar Liga Pro Gaming in 2019, and h𝓡as since hosted five main seasons. The most recent season ended in August, crowning Peruvian national team Thunder Predator as its champion. The victors took home a $5,000 grand prize, out of the tournament’s $10,000 prize pool.

Movistar LPG will host two more events in 2020, the first of which will be a sixth Dota 2 season. Valve will contribute $25,000 USD in prize money to the event, boosting the pri🃏ze pool up $15,000 from the 🌌previous season. The tournament will have an upper and lower division, both of which will feed into the league’s final event of the year.

The year's final tournament will be the Movistar LPG Final Series, which boasts a $20,000 USD prize pool contributed by Valve. T🔥he event will feature eight total teams, with the top seven from season six’s upper division earning a spot. ✃The champions of the season six lower division will also advance to the Final Series.

Movistar Liga Pro Gaming season 6 and the Final Series have not yet been scheduled. Both events are expected 🍸to take place before the end of the ye🌟ar.
